Bears could survive with Judkins and swift just fine for 1 year.He is toast but I think we have good enough depth to get thru this season.
1 RB in the first 2 rounds is a huge need, getting a second RB on day 3 to be the 5th RB on the roster is not.I think RB is higher on the list of priorities than both safety and LB. Could just be the Jeanty hype.
Could also be we're all assuming Johnson wants to a 2-headed RB attack like he had in Detroit and another RB is more integral to team success than a 3rd LB or 3rd safety.
You’re a charitable guy, I respect itYou’re right. I was just being charitable.
He should stick to drumsThe Dave Grohl takes in this thread are absolute shit.
the best thing to come from his foo fighters timeframe is him helping to find and promote Queens of the Stone Age(and played the drums on QOTSA album songs for the deaf)He should stick to drums

i really like Queens of the Stone Age. You gotta get past their couple of mainstream hits to find their real gems, thoughAnother pretty meh band, but probably slightly better than Foo Fighters, maybe….tough to say, kind of like comparing fast food chains….

Done this the last couple years. Nailed 2023. Not so much 2024.
Here's my mock track for 2025, without trades, to put the Bears in the best position to make a run in 2025.
Players off the board 1-9 (not in order): Cam Ward, Travis Hunter, Abdul Carter, Will Campbell, Jalon Walker, Ashton Jeanty, Armand Membou, Tyler Warren, Mason Graham
1.10-Mykel Williams, Edge, UGA-I was debating between Williams and Walter Nolen here. I think Williams has a higher floor along with a pretty good ceiling. I don't think he had the freedom to to be unleased in Kirby Smart's system. He has the measurables I think that both Poles and Allen can work with at edge. Booker will not work in Allen's system. We need a third edge.
2.39-Aireontae Ersery, OT, Minnesota-I think this draft we find an LT to replace Braxton so we don't have to pay him $20M. We've heard comments about both Braxton and Kiran needing to put on weight. Despite what's been said in the media, I don't think Johnson believes in either Braxton or Kiran long-term. We find our LT of the future here and complete the OL rebuild.
2.41-Quinshon Judkins, RB, Ohio State-RB of the future. Has like 3 career fumbles. Good traits, physical runner to complement Swift. I think the staff loves Jeanty, but he won't be available at 10 and I don't see us trading up for him. It's clear we want another RB to go with Swift for this season and that isn't Roschon. Judkins is an excellent talent.
3.72-Shemar Turner, DT, Texas A&M-We've heard about interior pressure being detrimental to a QB and how important is to not give a give a pocket to step up into. Turner can learn from Garrett for a year or two and be insurance if Dexter doesn't take that step we need him to take.
5.148-Breshard Smith, RB, SMU-Yes, another RB. Swift is gone after this season I think. Smith is a former WR who showed he can handle the load at SMU in the ACC. Sub-4.4 40. He'll take over for Swift as 3rd down back in 2026. Offers return ability as well. He'll pair nicely with Judkins.
7.233-Xavier Truss, Guard, UGA-Developmental OL. Has played multiple positions (guard and tackle). Will be a guard in the NFL but could bump out to tackle in a pinch.
Yes, I know Brisker has scrambled eggs for brains and can't be relied on, and Byard is collecting his pension, but I think we have good backups on the roster to kick the safety can down the road for one more season. I also think Gordon will get some reps at safety. We'll go into 2026 draft without needing any premium positions (QB, OT, Edge, DT, CB). That's a good spot to be in, IMO.
If this happens I'm smacking the closest person to me.You do know this draft will go something like:
Headscratcher (DB? OG? TE?)
Less Headscratcher (OT RB OG)
WTF (DB K TE)
WTF?!?!? (ANOTHER DB?)
SRSWTF (A ST only WR who doesn't do returns because bad hands)
FINE (OT who is very T-Rex arms)
All I've heard about this draft is about its depth at DL (DE and DT) and RB. I think we should take advantage of a deep class at those positions.1 RB in the first 2 rounds is a huge need, getting a second RB on day 3 to be the 5th RB on the roster is not.
Considering Swift, Roschon and Wheeler are all on contract thru 2026 (and Homer for 2025) do you think drafting 2 RB this draft might be counterintuitive? What's the chances he thinks he can't use any of the 3?I think RB is higher on the list of priorities than both safety and LB. Could just be the Jeanty hype.

Roschon has a history of concussions. He cannot be relied on.Considering Swift, Roschon and Wheeler are all on contract thru 2026 (and Homer for 2025) do you think drafting 2 RB this draft might be counterintuitive? What's the chances he thinks he can't use any of the 3?
