Yeah I love it. About time an American automaker started actually pushing new engineering and design, that and the S is fast as hell. GM, Ford and Chrysler need to pay more attention.

Kinda reminds me a bit of an Audi TT...but a little less "bubbly" in front.

The only cars I have owned in the last 12 years are Caddies and Audis. The build quality and handling of the Audi is just much better

In person it looks like the best parts of a Jag and an Aston Martin.

There's a black one I see on my way to work every day, black paint and matte black rims, looks amazing.

dont get me and crys started on a audi rant. we both are experienced car guys.one can build the cars and the other buys and sells them. audi is overpriced and too much to maintain. they are trying to get into the middle market but its not working due to the cost to own. the internet can say whatever it likes about the audi, when it comes down to an audi 2 years or older, car buyers at the auction stay far away. i only see this happen 100 times a week.

Avoid the new Camaros like the plague man. Sure they look cool, but they weigh a fucking ton (and drive like it), their platform is an outdated PoS (same chassis as recent Caprices, the Daewoo Veritas, '07 Buick Park Ave, Luminas, and a whole host of other shit-mobiles), the sight-lines out of it are crap (feels like you're driving in an armored personnel carrier), and so on. It's rumored that in the next few years the next gen. Camaro won't be on the Zeta platform, so maybe take a look then.

they do drive badly- but then again my last 2 sports cars have been a 99 camaro ss (gone) and a 79 firebird( in the middle of a rebuild)...... so by comparison they handle like a dream!

That's a good thing. Especially when the gas pedal gets stuck.

How about VW's, like say a Passat TDI? Are those unreliable like Audi's too?

Not buying it. When compared to BMW an Audi is better built and cheaper, plus it rides and handles better.

Everyone has their own experience with cars, but I'm telling you mine. I'll guarantee that I have owned, leased or had company cars more vehicles than anyone on this forum: Mustang, Chrysler Sedan, Trans Am, Triumph TR7, Vega, Pinto, two 5 series BMW, Jag XJS, 2 Caddies CTS, 2 Caddie STS, 3 Chrysler T&C, Honda Prelude, Olds mobile SUV, and that doesn't even include the 15 ford/Chevy company cars I have possessed. And the best built, best handling, most solid car is the Audi A5 I currently have. I also have a friend that leases 7 Audis for his employees and no issues and my best friend just spent 100K on a S7 when he has had BMW M5s for the last 15 years. No issues and no problems and everyone is totally pleased

I plan on getting an Audi R8 at some point and have been on that forum for 2 years. Rarely ever hear of a single issue or even their vehicles in for repairs. In fact, it's amazing how many of their members have switched from Ferrari, Lambos, Bentleys to the Audi R8. They say it's the most user friendly, cheapest to maintain supercar on the road.

The Audi R8 is the best built, most highly tested with the most quality control measures of any car made in the world. r8 workers are the most highly trained and experienced in the world. Check this video

Out of curiosity, have you owned / driven any of the V variants? Not trying to start anything...I love Audi's. I'm just looking for the most bang for the buck factor.

Never driven the V variant. Truth is that I liked those Caddies I had. Very comfortable. I just think Audi's build quality is better and the Quattro 4 wheel drive makes you feel so much more secure than anything Caddie is offering. How important is that? Well, I was traveling from St. Louis to Moline in a freaking blizzard with dozens of cars and trucks off the road. Didn't feel safe in the Caddie over 35 MPH. It was at that moment that I wish I had an Audi. But how often does that happen.

But cars are built so much better these days than the 60s and 70s. Those were real shitbags. The squeaks and rattles, electrical system issues, rear wheel drive. Today cars are so much better. One of my favorite cares was that Jaguar XJS I mentioned. Charchol grey with Burgundy interior and wood trim everywhere. Striking in it's beauty. Bought it 2 years old and seemed like something was going wrong every day. Horrible electrical system and shoddy build quality. After awhile it seems like it cost me a $1000 every time I took it out of the garage. Wasn't worth the aggravation

Ya, that thing is pretty much track only. They did a lot to it beyond aesthetics...

Want to see something cool? It's called the Audi Experience at Sonoma Ca. 2 days of driving R8s on a world class race track. Tons of reviews on the internet but here is a short promotional video. Trying to talk my son in law into this.

That looks like extreme fun.

I'm still happy driving a '63 Valiant, lol. It will never stop running. ...never...and the slant 6 is just too easy to work on.

Don't get me wrong, I am as impressed by modern automobiles as you guys are, just not high enough on my list of wants to put so much money into.

But damn, that Audi Experience would be a ball.
