I always hear them say "Fiddy, Fiddy". At least that is what I thought they were saying.

Are we talking about something different here?

I always hear them yell fiddy fiddy too, and it was on the signs as 50/50. You buy a ticket, they call your number, you get half, charity gets half. 50/50. But Jako said it's not called that because it's not a 50/50 anymore so I'm trying to figure out what it is. If it's not called split the pot, charity getting 50%... where does everything else go?

Next home game, check out the signs, and listen to the ticket sellers. They don't say 50/50 anymore. Again, I ain't bitching if the other split truly does go to charity. I would be willing to be we don't see a split the pot over 10 grand.

So what is a 50/50 then?

apparently "70/30 raffle" doesn't have the same ring to it.

what jako was trying to say is they no longer do an even split between the winner and the charity.

so i wonder if they are still giving the charity 50% then skimming some off the top for the organization, and then giving the rest to the winner. hmm.

I wondered the same thing. I really hope they aren't skimming. That's just dirty pool.

It took them over two weeks to mail the check to us.

And the intrest goes to........

We certainly did not understand why it takes several weeks to get a check for a drawing that evening

that is all cash. The only thing we could think is that they were looking to verify the social security

number given.

I am really curious if what Jako says is true that 50% does not go to the winner.

I would imagine they have to run the money through their and the charities books officially before disbursing an award. But like you I want to know where all that money is going. You would have to think that since only the state is able to run a lottery, they are not allowed to skim off the top.
