He said is it tragic what the Bears are doing to him. He is a Dolphins fan and OSU grad. He said it is a shame that Fields did not get drafted by a team that can develop Quarterbacks.

He got me thinking -- he is right. What made us think this franchise could develop a young QB?? What, our 100 years of never developing one gave us this confidence?

Chicago is a place where young QB's .... heck, even Vet QB's.... go to die.

I have reconciled that this organization will not get this right... Caleb, Shedeur or whomever... we will screw it up.

Also, I have reconciled that Fields likely will need a change of scenery to fully blossom. As much as I would like to see it happen with my Bears -- it aint gonna happen. He is not perfect but as Trent Dilfer used to say, "his stuff bucket is a full as they come". Under "the right" coaching, he will be top 5 .... possibly top 3 ... but not here. All the tools are there.... even today, there were some throws into tight windows that few QB's can make. And we have not even started talking about his legs.

Poor coaching
- under center - 9 out of 10 times it is a run play
- in shotgun - 8 out of 10 times it is a pass play
- so fricken predictable
- why have him throw INTO TRAFFIC, playmakers everywhere on that Tampa D.... from his own goal line?
- why keep having his throw behind the line of scrimmage with no perimeter blocking WHEN THE D KNOWS IT IS COMING???
---- This O has so many "tells" it is ridiculous!

I saw on Twitter today (or X) where one the beat writers wrote: "Getsy makes Matt Nagy's offense look sophisticated". ............... I was like Wow! That is the low of lows. I don't know if I would go that far but I will say, the writer was not that far off.

Poor play calling
Poor blocking
1 very good WR and a bunch of average/below average targets to throw to
And yes... Justin is to blame for some of it... but under the right coaching??? Wow. This guy can be a world beater.

Mitch needed a change of scenery. And despite wishing him well, we all knew he would likely still be average. But Fields?? Watch him take off at his next destination.

Book it!!.... and save this Post because I stand by that!

Bears are more at fault for being terrible talent evaluators and always picking the wrong guy. If the QB has it, even the Bears can’t mess them up. The Bears always select QBs with glaring flaws that good organizations identify before selecting the player. Everything that Fields is showing was identified in his draft prospect report. Start hiring guys that know what they are looking at.

Combine report:

Weaknesses
  • Needs to improve pocket mobility for clean launch points.
  • Below-average feel for edge pressure, running himself into pressure points.
  • Field vision is average in face of the blitz.
  • Missed open blitz beaters in the middle of the field against Indiana.
  • Gradual operation time prevents expedited release.
  • Needs to release ball earlier on anticipatory throws.
  • Needs to improve eye manipulation as a pro.
  • Stagnant eyes invite coverage to the passing party.
  • Forces receivers to slow for deep throws.
  • Pet spin move as runner got him clocked against Clemson.

What's really tragic is Fields inability to read a defense. What's tragic is that Fields appears to have zero understanding of throwing a guy open rather than holding the ball waiting for someone to come open. What's tragic is that Justin Fields appears to be yet another notch on the Bears belt of shit QBs.

This shit right here is just horrible...

Seriously? This is the report and he was still drafted 11th, I believe? Well,...looked at who drafted him. Your post connects 'all the dots' for me. Thanks for the info.....I'll thank you now, instead of later........lol....

Prior to that Scott was open, this pic shows him drifted over toward safety more. Huge miss

Laughing at Tom Brady
It’s this clown owner, it’s George. He was so fixated on reliving glory days or what he thought of as glory days that he took his eye off the real prize. Going back to the cover 2 trying to recreate the Lovie days is so incredibly stupid and sad. He should have been doing everything to help his new QB.

Remember coaches were interviewed prior to Poles hire, my guess is they gave him list.....sad part, is u have Fields, then turn around and don't look for a Offensive minded coach that actually calls plays. Let's hire a Defensive coach lol.

Poles first 4 picks all should have been Offensive players

Fields need to go to the Falcs. He and Bijan would be deadly in that offense. Pace is there now, maybe they’ll give us a first? Lol. Still, that would be the ideal trade destination.

This post is stupid.

Not because the coaches are great (because they are ass).
Not because it is true (the Cubs will never win a world series...until they did. Getting the QB right is one of the hardest things in sports).

But because of the fatalism combined with it being yet another "Watch this Bears QB become something on another team!" scream that we all have heard since Rex Grossman, and it NEVER comes true.

Poles didn’t pick Eberflus. It’s pretty obvious Polian did. They had already narrowed the search down to like 4 guys before they even hired Poles. Then they tried to spew some bullshit about how he was involved, but the timeline doesn’t work at all. Shit, I can’t remember exactly how it went down, but there may have been rumors Eberflus was the lead candidate before Poles even got the job.

And nobody is going to want Fields other than as a backup.

Preach brother! And that ain’t the only time this game, the last game, and even last year.

Didn’t he have bad ass receivers in Ohio that were always beating the defenders so it was easy to pass to them? This ain’t the big 10. This is the big boy league….

looks to me its the O-line's fault...........................just sayin'.........................

The O-line's fault for not blocking well or giving much time. The GMs fault for making this the O-line we have. The coaches fault for not teaching them a way to work together to minimize the bad parts and maximize the good parts of what they are able to do. And Justin Fields' fault for not reading the field and process and releasing the ball quickly. That's the real problem. Everything is F*ked.
