If Rios has a bounce back year, would you trade him?

Let's say Rios starts off on fire or gets on a hot streak before or at the trade deadline. What would you do with him? Keep him and hope it continues or sell while his value may be reasonably high?

Yeah, given that the Sox don't look to seriously contend (albeit could still have a good record), I'd think they'd jump @ the chance to dump him. If Dunn has another bad 2 months to start the season, I'd think the same could be said about him.

if rios is playing well but the team isnt, you move him. If the team is playing well and he is as well....gotta keep him. I dont like the guy but if the last scenario happens...i gotta stick with whats working.

that division is SOOOOOO bad...its anyones divison including KC

I'd dump him quicker than my cheating whore of a high school girlfriend.

BUT, here's what's going to happen:

The White Sox are going to be contending come the All Star Break, just like they always do. KW is going to make stupid moves "to win" (like keeping Rios) and then the Sox will fail miserably in September, and KW will still have a job and we'll all go back to being disgruntled Sox fans.

Go Sox.

Sounds about right.

Dump Rios whenever you can regardless of how the Sox are doing.

De Aza?

Rios really isn't all that great in centre. Rios is a much better RF'er than a CF'er, I wish it were Viciedo in left, De Aza in center and Rios in RF

That's pretty much my sentiment. As soon as you have a taker and can get something remotely decent back, you take that deal. Get him out ASAP.

De Aza sucks. Stop kidding yourself thinking this minor league scrub is all of a sudden better than Rios.

Rios wouldn't be such a hindrance to this team if his contract wasn't so big and with so many years left. That really sucks the value out of him right now.

:andruw:

The past three seasons when he's been healthy and playing in the majors, he's been pretty good. If he hadn't been injured so much early on in his career he would still be the Marlins starting center fielder.

Do you even look up stats? Or...

For sure. IMO, the only reason Rios played so much last year was because of his contract. When you're paying someone that much, you don't want to sit them on the bunch, but man is he a waste with the way he's performed the last 2 years.

Rios is a career .275 hitter. The contract wasn't his fault. Blame the Jays for giving it to him.

I expect him to bounce back just so the haters can lay off him.

.275 is OK, but not for the money he's making. The Jays may have given him the contract, but the Sox are the team stuck with it. That's all I'm saying.

Rios is a career .275 hitter. I like the guy.

But continue the hateraid for him.

.275 is a good batting average, sure, but not for what we pay him.

He's also got a OBP of only .323, a slugging .434 and an OPS of .757.

That is pretty mediocre. He's also a dog in the field.

Rios would be a good guy to keep around if he was only making 2-3 million a season. But for his production, at this cost he needs to be the moved to the first person that wants him.

Right now, I'd take a couple of bats and a piece of equipment to be named later for Rios.
