I never used that term either..again..Google

Not trying to get into the middle of the argument, but you did...

I dont know anyone who flies the Confederate flag so I cant answer your question. Besides..If someone is a true American, why would they fly the Confederate flag??

Jesus Christ, what the hell is the matter with all of you?

I like all of you posters, even the ones who only posted once or twice in this thread. And yes, I read every damn page.

We're all different, and as time goes by and wins and losses add up, we're still here, still with the same fucking tards everyday, rooting our team on in our own way.

Some of us are a little crazy, and some have serious trust issues and are way too defensive. At the end of the day, you have to ask yourself "Do I log into CCS to fight people or laugh?"

If you picked the first one, please get the **** out.

I log on to laugh at the people that fight. Although some of them get really grade schoolish for lack of a better term.

having grown up transplanted to Oklahoma from Chicago (and Oklahoma is just a "wannabe" Southern state, which is almost worse), I probably will avoid living on the wrong side of the Mason Dixon from here on out. I remember going into gas stations that had the Confederate flag and slogans like "If the South Would Of (Sic) Won, We Would Of (Sic Again) Had It Made".

There are exceptions (New Orleans, Savannah, Wilmington, N.C), but that "culture" just generally isn't for me.

That is an over generalization. You going to find dumb people everywhere. I have encountered many from the North that are as dumb as a box of rocks. I mean look at this site. You have your fair share of morons and a lot are from up north. Southerners tend to be more friendly from my experiences. Where I am from(New Orleans) when we walk down the street we say "hows it going" or "how you doing". Its like an insult down here if someone gives some form of gesture and someone ignores it. The north is nothing like that. If we see people in trouble, almost all will stop and try to help. Im sure there are many people in the North that are liked that but I have read some horror stories on the internet. The Connecticut one for an example when a guy was hit by a car and no one helped him. Cars drove around and people just kept walking on the street. The mayor of that town was furious. Like I said Im not saying all northerners are like that, but there are some. People get the wrong impression of the south because TV and Hollywood portray is in such a dumb light. We are all not coon asses. We don't fucking eat nutria. Thanks swamp people for putting that in peoples head now. Very few live in shack on bayous and that is in deep Louisiana. To tell you the truth, I am from Southern Louisiana. We consider northern Louisiana the North. They are so much different from us and there food sucks. We like to drink. We have no problem getting in a scuffle. We love the women and we can get a little mud on the tires as well as go club/bar hopping with the best of them. Sorry for the rant. Its not really directed towards you just in general.

Some went to see "Deliverance" or some hollywood civil war movie and think they know all about how Southerners are... When I explored this area to retire to, I was shocked at how much misinformation is out there about the South. Also, I was pleasantly surprised at how genuine and nice the people are. Took me a while to learn to "slow down" though. People in the checkout line show their kids pics to the checkout girl...Get a flat tire and there are 3 cars stopping to help you.

wasn't trying to generalize anything. Just my opinion after spending 13 years down there, it's not for me.

We visit NO almost every year (and make it a point to stay out of the French Quarter mostly) and enjoy it quite a bit, but I don't think I'd want to live there.

My buddy and his wife love it, though, and would never leave.

You know, different strokes, all that.

I was just thinking about where I'd want to live in the future. I can't stand Chicago anymore. I would either pick Rhode Island or Cali. I got family in RI and it's a really nice, small town. Everyone is extremely nice and there's barely any crime. Cali would be cool because it's warm all year round.

Random topic but just curious where you guys would wanna live.

I've already done it, as in re-starting life somewhere else...twice.

Took me a while to learn location has nothing to do with being happy, b/c no matter where you go you always have to take you with. Most native Floridians do not choose to stay in Florida, yet divorcees flock there in droves.

As I get older, my tolerance for U.S. society and their political nonsense is becoming less and less.

So my answer is, sailboat and open water...as in live-aboard and travel.

I live in Houston Texas. I was born in Elgin Illinois. I tell my wife that I really want to move back. I want to live in Chicago but I don't think I can afford it. I would like to live outside of Chicago but not too far. I want to go back up north because people up north are just hard working blue collar type of guys. I get to experience all 4 seasons there. Houston is just to hot and too much humidity. Probably snows every 4 years and it melts as soon as it touches the ground. Plus I want to see a Bears game for the first time at Soldier Field with tons of Bears fans. Sucks being down here and going to a game and being surrounded by stupid texans fans. I miss the seasons.

I have done it actually. At the age of 24 I moved from Chicago to Tri Cities, Washington. I now live in Spokane, Washington which is considered a big city out here but probably has less than 250,000 residents. I've been to both Portland and Seattle and both are beautiful cities, but I think I would have to restart in Seattle. The state is great, less taxes. less crime, beautiful lands with hills and mountains. Tons of wildlife and it's still big enough that I can keep the familiar feeling of living in a big city.

I had an opportunity to take a job in Key West when I was 25 and should have taken it :) . We had a couple of consultants come to our company to assist us with making performance enhancements to a particular software product we purchased. They liked the improvements I made on top of their code and offered me a job in Key West. It was a small company and I wasn't sure about the stability of it. They basically worked out of a coffee shop they owned. Sounded like a nice stress free location and life.

Hawaii, and its not even close. The best four years of my life were living in Hawaii. I even grew to love the early morning football games on sundays because we were still at the beach by 1:00.

All our plans for the future now revolve around being able to retire there. The final reboot/restart.
