Good first, decent second, all in all a 2-0 lead. Just don't back down or let off, but play somewhat conservatively, and we should be fine. Definitely not over yet though. Crawford looking strong again.

Anywhere to get the Kane goal as a gif?

Solid win, shaky third period, Crawford came up with a bunch of big saves.

3-0-0 for the first time since 1972-73, secondary scoring (Stalberg) and defense getting involved (Keith/Seabrook connection and Oduya pushing forward a lot) were major factors. Besides the one sequence where he didn't react at all, Kaner had a solid night. And we're the only team that has shut down Tarasenko so far. :yeah:

A few solid power plays, and one not so good one, scored on one of them, PK still pretty good, though it allowed one tonight.

Gotta love six points to start the season, especially in year they're at a premium. Does Rosenbloom still want to trade Kane?

in the right deal, you do it. but as of now they look white hot so you probably leave it alone.

Crawford making big saves in clutch moments is my favorite part of the first 3 games. Hope he keeps it up.

If you honestly think I meant that should be a way to judge our entire season, or even it just up to this point, then you're reading comprehension is lacking as usual. Just like you and fisch taking an imperative remark about wondering if there was a 5th tiebreaker out of context in the last IGT. Guess it shouldn't surprise me anymore.

Was at the game last night and was definitely a good one. Some thoughts on the game...

Saad looks good but lacks consistency right now. A roller coaster game for him in a lot of ways but he shows that potential.

The third line just isn't doing it for me. I don't know if Shaw can make it as a center. Bickell/Shaw/Stalberg lack chemistry (and a lot of that has to do with them all being below average passers).

Faceoffs were better last night, but still an issue and one that needs to be addressed. The PP goal given up was from a lost faceoff. With the PK starting in the defensive zone (PP vice versa) after every penalty, faceoffs are more important than ever...and Toews can't take every faceoff. Shaw is at 44.8%, Kruger 43.8%, and Bolland at 42.8% (only 3 games in, but last year Bolland was at about 48% and Kruger 45%). Jamal Mayers is sitting on the bench and he was at 56.1% last year, that gives me enough reason to put him on the 4th line. I would roll out...

Stalberg/Kane/Hossa
Sharp/Bolland/Kane
Shaw/Kruger/Bickell
Frolik/Mayers/Bollig

I know the team is looking good right now but I think a few things...Saad needs to get more time in the AHL, Shaw needs to play wing, and the Blackhawks need to win more faceoffs before it hurts them.

A lot of positives from last night though. Stalberg is using his speed, Kane/Sharp are showing some great chemistry, and Hossa/Toews continue to dominate. Crawford looked good again last night...give up 2 goals a game and everyone will be thrilled.

Team is rolling but I think some small tweaks would be proactive and serve them well.

Hawks won the faceoff battle 34-26 last night. Toews was 67 (!!) percent, Bolland 56. Shaw and Kruger each at 45.

Correct, they were better last night (as stated in my post) but overall I see it being a problem. The PP goal against had to do with Kruger losing a faceoff. We saw Kane (had to step in) lose a face off and that resulted in a goal against Phoenix. I fully expect Bolland, Shaw, and Kruger to be under 50% for the season. Blackhawks need a Center who can take faceoffs and give Toews a rest.

Pretty good win. Saad surprised me, played solid. Crawford was pissing me off early leaving the goal, but got better as the game went on. Survived the surge in the 4th by the Blues and got the W. Teams definitely looking good. Injures are going to happen this season, for every team, its just a matter of how the Hawks will perform with them. A lot of road games coming up now, so it'll be interesting to see.
