I think those people you refer too, thought Stalberg was a player who has played half a NHL season before and has potential to progress and be still good. You took it as, he should equal Versteeg instantly who was overrated as it is, and there was no actual logical comparison reasoning.

In the interests of disclosure, I used to work for a govt agency, answering phone calls where people would be griping about this, that, or the other law as passed by Congress- but no one ever really wanted to write or call their Congressional office. Since I had zero say in the actual laws as written ( I got to administer them) ... it was like ..jeez, ok -then *don't* call them ... but I was unclear as to what purpose complaining to me served.
Pretty similar to here at times, really.
GM gets players, coach dresses players, players play... I watch or listen ... not really part of the equation really -just an observer.
