Yeah, Lehtonen was good...but where were the screens? How many chances really down low (that wasn't the ol' backdoor maneuver)?

Sack up, men.

That is where they could use someone like Byfuglien.

Lehtonen was a beast, but we scored a late goal and saved ourselves from the embarrassment of a shutout. Just come back ready to go tomorrow and let Chelsea Dagger do the rest. :)

Does anyone watch or listen to the Blackhawks' pre- or postgame shows?

I sometimes listen to the WGN pre- and postgame shows. I've liked Judd Sirott since he was the voice of the Wolves.

It was one game. Let the guys find their chemistry with one another. Crawford also looked good

:troll: Yeah well I'm just hacked off because I had the Hawks getting 164 points ... and now they've BLOWN IT....

...or if Scott scored a game winner from Stalberg and Emery.. or maybe Emery scoring a game winner from Scott and Stalberg...

Hawks played like shit last night and Dallas out worked them.

Defense was really bad (Keith not looking good in particular) and the powerplay was god awful (ran the same play at least 6 or 7 times with zero result). Hawks first line (saad toews sharp) was not good. 2nd line (esp. Hossa) did all the lifting.

Not a fun game to watch. Credit to Dallas though- they came to play... in front of an oddly empty crowd.

This made no sense to me. I guess they're still kinda holding try outs for that last D-pairing?

That should have been done by now.

they also had 7 dmen dressed last night, so ice time was short lived. lol

The good: Lehtonen is on my fantasy team. He and Crawford both had great games last night in front of the net. Very impressed with both.

The bad: Hawks' D looked really rusty and the PP was non-existent.

Dallas controlled tempo most of the game and made the most of their opportunities. Hawks had scoring chances, but credit to Lehtonen for stepping up and playing huge. He was the player of the game IMO. Hawks need to step it up tonight and bring it on home ice. Get the W for the home opener!

High school football will outdraw professional hockey in big D every time. Friday night lights are the real deal. Especially when that was the only pro game on the docket last evening. I also noticed Q wasting no time juggling the lines in the second period to try to create mismatches even though he had the first change.

Not sure why Q didn't pair the D more in the preseason to prepare. It almost seemed like the team was set pretty early with the exception of Saad playing well, and Q starting his clock.

The PP will click eventually, and I thought the Hawks were really good in the dots (Kane 6-3, Mayers 4-1, Sharp 3-0, Toews 13-13, Pirri 5-7, Frolik 3-6) especially being the away team. There were some great opportunities early, and one would have thought that one of the 22 shots in the second would hit the back of the net. Frolik needs to bury the open net. Kari stood on his head, and that's one of the reasons why they left with no points.

The ice looked like it sucked, and I noticed a lot of rolling pucks. The UC ice will be no different tonight with 80 degree temps today.
