My assessments from the home opener:
Sharp had a good night on the score sheet, but if that's what we get with him recovering-- it will be nice with him at 100%, which should be very soon. He looked like he was almost there last night.
Frolik was all over the ice last night. He was out-skating and the puck kept finding him.
Hawks looked good in the dots again last night. Toews was 11-9, Bolland 12-6, Kreuger 2-2, and Kane was 2-4 (I thought Kane would fare better at home).
John Scott... well, is what he is. A pylon that's on the ice for 3 minutes. Lucky the benching of Scott and the shortening of the bench didn't affect the outcome of the game in a negative light, or I think we'd be discussing Q's decision to dress him more.
Dvorak tries to check Seabrook, and he shrugs him off like a fly. I also like Q running with Mayers in the last minute to assure that no Ott/Burish dim wittery takes place.
Regardless, the Hawks came out and dominated the Stars. Their back checking kept the shot total to 2 in the first and 7 in the second. It was nice to see the evolution that took place between friday to saturday.
Hossa also was all over the place, and got in a couple of nice hits.
If this is the team we see against the Jets, Winnipeg is in some serious trouble.
