Yep - because everyone knows that when a stick breaks it has absolutely no impact whatsoever on a shot's velocity....

Look, why don't some of you go out there and actually try it for a change ... it is kinda sad really... - I used to break sticks all of the time - they were dried out pieces of shit (because I bought the cheap ones - ) ... snapped in the center of the shaft as I'd bite too much of the ice with my slap shot some times .... shit happens -- it is a fast game - gotta get over it and hit it the next shift --- it really isn't that complicated of a situation.

I suppose some of you experts are going to shit all over the waterboy next? ! lol :D

What a joke.

i have actually broken a couple of goalie sticks, both bauer.

i have spent an assload of money on sticks in my lifetime, most sticks that i have broken were indeed, stick to ice.......if the timing is off by a fraction you can and will rip a stick apart.

Buf- come on now ... understanding what the idea behind a guy's role is supposed to be -isn't the same thing as being even "in a fan club".

If it matters too - the idea that perceived role, and the actual function of a guy (or that guy's ability to function in a given role) - are 2 different things.

I don't think this team has the scorers on the team to be able to afford to carry a guy like Scott --- which is technically a flip flop in the regards that the Hawks' core this season hasn't been all that effective.

So I think I have been convinced that there isn't much point to that guy being in the lineup (however --- you also have had to have seen guys like Wayne Van Dorp - and all to well, I suppose really know what zero hockey skills were -- which even included goon. I think that guy was one of Keenan's pets in about 1990. Then came Mike Peluso, then Stu Grimson -- they were all basically the same guy. (Some of those guys may have been on the team at the same time for all I remember -- I'm not bored enough to check). :)

Aye. I think I remember a time when Peluso and Stu were together. Hell, I think they even had Russel out there at the same time, too...who was horseshit at hockey and at fighting.

You know I think you're right --- they did have Russell back then --- and there wasn't a salary cap (of course there was the Wirtz cap).

Was Bob McGill still on the team back then? I liked Bob - wished I would have seen his goal moonwalk -- I think he may have had like under 10 career goals. . .

And the thing about Cam Russell is that he was twice the hockey player that Jerome DuPont was ( but probably not as good an agent -I think DuPont represents players now...) -which says a lot about DuPont as a "defenseman".

__

Dewssox -so I assume you were goalie then... if not, well I'd keep away from you on the ice - you'd have to have one hell of a slash. :D --- I got one goal stick - got it at some auction in KC -god only knows how it got there or why - but it has Ron Low's autograph -- I think I got for like $5.

Iago -- now there would have been one high flying 4th line. :D -- but yeah I think you're right on that (plus I think they were both left wings - with the same role -so the entire 4 effective lines with 12 effective forwards never has been all that easy to achieve.

I remember when I started playing you could buy a really good two piece stick for $80. The first Synergy had just hit the market then and now pretty much everyone uses a one piece. Now every time I need to replace a stick it costs $200+.
