Koekkoek has played much better lately, but he was awful on Garland's goal last game. That was completely unacceptable.

More than anything else, he's been fortunate......bad passes, missed shots, great saves have all saved his sorry ass. I mean all you have to do is watch. Don't look at stats or +/-..... just watch when he's on the ice, the Hawks are always scrambling to clear or stop a barrage. He is simply not an NHL player and would be the first guy I'd send packing to Rockford.

Would be nice to get a win here with Boston coming to town and then another road trip..

Chicago supposedly claimed Nick Seeler off waivers.

This is what I can't understand: Boudreau claimed that Seeler was a salt-of-Earth kind of guy in the Locker Room and well-respected and worked hard and did all he asked and blah blah blah.

He said this about him: "If we were a contending team I'd play him every other night. But we're fighting for our lives here (Playoff spot ones) and I couldn't find time for him."

Does THAT make any sense? He's good enough for a contender but NOT good enough for a team that right now currently sucks and is fading fast like I expected they would and am surprised they've been as high as they've been?

In the meantime he can certainly add depth and another (somewhat) physical option w/ de Haan out.

No, it doesn't make sense. That's just coach-speak gobbledygook for "he sucks."

In addition to the Hawks, some other big games to watch tonight as far as the standings go:

Edmonton/Arizona
Nashville/Winnipeg
San Jose/Calgary

No 3 pointers in any of those, but especially the first two, please.

They look like a different team of late, fighting hard winning pucks, and making better pass decisions. They have more confidence to their game. If Debrincat can snap out of his funk and Kubs continues his ROTY pace, this will be a fun 2nd half.

I am taking Gilly Gilly is back in Rockford since it was noted that Seeler and Highmore are scratches..

Projected lineup tonight.

Kubalik - Toews - Caggiula
Saad - Dach - Kane
DeBrincat - Kampf - Strome
Smith - Carpenter - Nylander

Keith - Boqvist
Gustafsson - Murphy
Maatta - Koekkoek

Crawford

Guess Lehnar mouthing off to the press about his expected contract has struck a nerve, or they are showcasing Crow for a deal.

also looks like they have more confidence with Dach at the dot than Strome, but at least he is back with cat.

Does that mean the Hawks are a contender? Ohhhh no don't say it too loud or they might just lose 5 straight.

It took our core over a year to figure out this system, if that is what is doing this, cant see a newbie starting first game.

Minny had to put Seeler on waivers in order to send him to the AHL and the Hawks swooped in and took him. If the Hawks were to put Seeler on waivers in order to send him down, Minny would swoop in and take him back.

It took our core over a year to figure out this system,

One line depth core fails in the NHL. It's not like the NBA where your star player can play 45 of 48 minutes and demand the ball on each possession. NHL needs depth down the lines. PK specialist group, PP specialist group, 5 on 5 depth lines to match up vs the other team. Need all this to happen while managing the cap.

Hawks got better as the young players around the core progressed and showed they can play at the NHL level

Look at the ages of this roster now, has to be one of the youngest on average in the NHL...

2 minutes in....the Hawks again pinned in their own zone for 30 secs and of course #68 is out there for it.
