Damn lucky to get a point....I give them credit for that. But son of a *****, the half of the Hawk defensemen just blow.

Maybe my memory is fading but Seabrook wasn't as bad as some of these guys....was he?

Depends on the night. Honestly this is a game where, if the stars played like stars we should have won, but only Keith showed up...and then only in OT.

Ah well. Down 2-nil in the 3rd have to appreciate they earned a point.

They didn’t allow a back-breaking 3rd goal after making it 2-1...I’m happy that didn’t happen. It’s nice to think “Hey, they scored; They have a chance here” and to see it happen.

I certainly didn't help that Coach Zoolander had them playing that F@#%ing man-to-man coverage again in the first period.
And as you would expect The Wild had copious zone time and badly out shot The Hawks.

Our Apprentice Head Coach needs to stop trying to prove his system will work and just let the players play!!
Once they were freed up in the third it became a completely different game.

On a side note, what the F@#% was wrong with Kane tonight? He spent the entire game pouting like his mommy had just yelled at him... or something.

Well, the schedulers have not been kind to the hawks after the long layoff for the all star game.

Then they stay in Arizona for a superbowl party, looked like Toews fell asleep on a boat somewhere, and they get 4 shots in the first.

Honestly, until OT Keith looked like he was playing Time Zone coverage...as in as long as he was in the same time zone he was good (I think on the 1st goal he was somewhere in the Galapagos Islands). I mean sure you can say that man coverage is bad for the 'hawks, but it didn't look like Keith knew what a "man" was early in the game.

Same could be said for a lot of the stars though, and to be fair Keith *did* help bail out Captain Intangible's ass in overtime. The thing I saw most of the game is that the stars of the team looked like they were completely looking past Minnesota--and it doesn't help that Debrincat can't even score in a women's prison with a handful of pardons.

Bad effort all around. We'll see if they bother showing up tonight.

It looked like Toews lost every single faceoff...which hurts the early puck possession game

Those first two periods were pretty pathetic. I don't know if it was a matter of the Hawks being way too tentative to start the game or what, but that first period in particular was just bad.

Saad: what the hell, man. I normally hate people who constantly yell "shoot the puck," but seriously, shoot the fucking puck -- especially when you have a wide-open net and you've got the hot-hand. Guess even a veteran like Saad isn't immune to picking up the "Kane-is-on-my-line-so-automatically-defer" mentality.

Dach: this kid is really starting to impress me. I know he's not lighting the scoresheet on fire, but damn, he does a lot of the little things well -- things that a kid his age normally doesn't do at all -- back-check, fore-check, initiating contact, etc. We all knew he had size and skill, but I really didn't think he would have this high of a hockey IQ yet. I wanted Byram at the deadline, but from what I've seen so far, Dach could become the total package and I will probably be wrong to have wanted Byram when all is said and done.

Kane and Debrincat: horrible nights for both. Kane coasted the puck on the boards in OT because he didn't want to take a hit (from Zucarello) to make a play, which resulted in Dumba's GWG.

Koekkoek and Maata: both reverted back to sucking. Maatta scored, yes, but his play defensively was bad.

Of course, the Jets/Preds game was a three-pointer. Arizona won last night too, as did St. Louis and Colorado. Dallas picked up a point too. At least the Hawks kept their heads above water by earning a point, which is what they will have to do and more if they want to make the playoffs. We were extremely lucky to get a point last night -- we didn't deserve one.

I gotta agree, I dont know how he got all the way to the net with that puck on that one on two turned breakaway. He needs to win faceoffs though.

Strome is in a contract year, and he keeps getting pushed out to forward for someone worse on the dot. I can understand not wanting to match Dach with Kampf because he does not provide the weapon that kane and saad do. I did not think we figured to lock Cat up for 6 million for a third line guy though.

something still does not seem right with the team. It always starts to look like JC gets credit and the team falls apart.
