If Desjardins were healthy I'd still see tootoo playing. His injury was a fortunate one for making it easier to fit all the young guys in and not worry if Hartman, hino, or schmaltz would be the odd one out.

I just hate dressing a guy for about 4 minutes ice time... it's just such a waste to me... but then again, it's as much cause he sucks as it is you need to get Kane, Toews, Panarin, Anisimov, ect... 21+ minutes.

Right now Too Too is first out for me when Desjardins gets back. Then Hartman. Then Hino. And yes Moose is in that conversation. May the best men land in their ideal spot.

I'd like to see a bit of Motte-Smaltz-Hartman-Hino all play with Kruger-Hossa for a week or so while Desjardins is back. Then pair off the winner of that and hopefully by new years we have alot of information on who excels in that role or if its even a better combon than what I think works well with desjardins/Kruger.

I don't think we have to play Hossa/Kruger together but I like the idea. Lets check it out. I would be interested in something like

Motte-Schmaltz-Hossa because we know Desjardins-Kruger and an energy body to be effective.

Its just going to be a long process this year with alot to look at. Can Panik hold a top line spot? Does Motte or Schmaltz work their way into top 6? Where is Hossa best stashed?

At the end of the day I expect us to be a 6-8 seed that nobody wants to play, and be a tough out capable of taking any series.

Also it's cool that Marcus Kruger is going to score goals this year.

I'd say that both calls were accurate...so don't know what to tell ya there. I know if they happened against the Blackhawks that everyone would want those called.
