Why do I care about a team whose players I have zero personal connection with, who get paid whether they win or lose, have no impact on my life, and half of which are Canadian to begin with?.

Because, being a fan has nothing to do with personal connections to the players. It is all about love for the team. As for the players, I would much rather have the chance to hang out with hockey players than that of any other sport. They seem to be much more down to earth than players in any other league. Oh, and the whole Canadian thing, they love their beer, and so do I, so what is wrong with that?

LOL's, 20 years ago that was true...if the Bears lost on Sunday my whole week was shot before it began. Which was why I asked myself in the midst of my rant last night what was so damn important about a hockey team to be getting this upset about.
