Another good win for the Bulls tonight. Lucas came in at the end of the first quarter and changed the tempo of the game. Boozer is looking really good.

I wish people would observe a little better. Thibs changes the offense when Lucas is in the game. It is geared FOR LUCAS TO SHOOT THE BALL. Lucas is doing exactly what Thibs, one of the game's best coaches, wants him to do. He had another fantastic game...and people criticize him because he is not Earl Watson...4 assists and no points. I don't get it. If he was playing outside of the offense, selfish and cancerous to the team...wouildn't Thibs sit him down? you want selfish and self-centered? Go back and watch C.J. Watson's first month with the team. That is not what this is.

But I must reiterate, he is a 3rd string point guard. People who expect him to be Mark Jackson baffle me. He is not the selfish, self-centered jerk some make him out to be. He has worked his butt off to get to this point and he is supremely confident right now.

It is also interesting that while people on this forum criticize him...for being a typical 3rd string pg...the guys on the bench were up cheering him on and yelling "shoot!".

I agree with alot of this. I'll be the first to admit I'm not a big fan of Lucas' overall game. I feel he's too 1-dimensional on offense, isn't much of a passer, & has below average court vision (perhaps due to size :D). However, the Bulls offense in general is predicated on the PG dominating the ball, whether it be Rose, Watson, Lucas, or even James. Drive & Kick, Screen & roll, pick & pop are the cornerstones of this offense. Lucas is doing what Thibs wants, which is to shoot when open, & attack the basket. When the shots are falling, it's :fap:. When they aren't, it's :bigfinger:. It's frustrating. And I feel the same about Watson, except he is a much more skilled player on both ends of the court so it's easier to take the good with the bad.

I've never accused him of being selfish or playing for a pay check because there's not a single player on the team who operates with that mindset. Little guys have always had to work harder, play harder, & do so with a chip on their shoulder to succeed in this league. Lucas does that. It's my favorite aspect of his game. He has earned a spot in this league through persistence, dedication, & hard work. It's up to him what he does with it. If he can keep it consistent & improve, you may be looking at a new JLIII fan.

I just watched the game.

I can't believe nobody here mentioned Boozer! What a game in only 34 minutes!

After media not giving a **** about Bulls record till now and even giving the Knicks more possibilities to win the championship, its time to love the way things are going the opposite direction right now..I laughed hard at this article.

MOST VALUABLE TEAM

Are the Bulls the team to beat? Even with their MVP sidelined, they look like contenders. Chicago stifled Orlando 85-59 on Monday, proving just how deep they are.

When LBJ switches over to guard Derrick in the ECF Thibs should move Rose to the SG spot and Lucas to the PG that way LBJ has no shot at stoping us. :troll:

Lucas will have to show a lot early in the playoffs to break the rotation. Otherwise, you might not see him at all.

I liked the way Boozer stepped up in this game. He had Ryan Anderson on him and did what he was supposed to do to him. His jumper was on tonight.

I was saying this about C.J. when he first got here. He was playing like he should've been starting.

But I must reiterate, he is a 3rd string point guard. People who expect him to be Mark Jackson baffle me. He is not the selfish, self-centered jerk some make him out to be. He has worked his butt off to get to this point and he is supremely confident right now.
I don't expect him to be Mark Jackson, where did that come from? I expect him to come in and be a point guard. At least, that's what I was expecting from him.

It is also interesting that while people on this forum criticize him for being a typical 3rd string pg, the guys on the bench were up cheering him on and yelling "shoot!".
I'll be the first to say that I was wrong about him. Only because I didn't understand what his role was. With Rose out and C.J. being who he is, I expected him to come in and get guys involved. So when I see him ignore teammates that are wide open and go for his shot, it came off as him being selfish.

He's a good shooter, but he still needs to get more guys involved. If Thibs wants him to shoot, then who am I to argue with one of the greatest coaches ever? No one can deny that he chucks a lot though. Overall great game from him and I'm glad he has the confidence. Now that I know that Thibs wants him to shoot the ball and his teammates have given him the green light, I will not say much more on it.

He can have the nick-name Johnny Buckets. That's what I will call him.
