The OT was only a matter of time....the Hawks looked slow, they looked tired, they looked disorganized, they looked old.

They look beaten.

82 regular season games are kind of a joke. Playoffs are a different game....they are played differently and certainly officiated differently. The best two teams in the division about to be swept by a team that was a seller at the deadline and a team that I highly doubt is Stanley Cup material.

I've got one word for how the Hawks look: old.

Father Time remains undefeated.

Haha you've been saying this shit since Game 1 and it's still just as fucking dumb after Game 3.

Hartman > Shaw

Hartman is better than Shaw. But where has Hartman been this series? Not on the score sheet.

Yeah, the cap doing what it's supposed to do. Eventually, you end up with a bunch of old, high priced veterans. I love all of these guys for what they've done for NHL hockey in Chicago....but sorry to say, the Hawks are gonna have to cut ties with a few guys that we've become accustomed to watching play here. Bowman has done as well as anyone has a right to expect but there will be some growing pains in the immediate future.

Has panarin even taken a shot this series?

Don't think we've ever had a lead in a series with him on the roster.....hes Mr 82...aka....Mr regular season.

Would also be nice if the "captain" showed up.....another donut from him.

And where's the line juggling?

Fully expected kane and toews together tonight....never saw it, just see schmaltz-kero-Hartman moved around and kane on the occasional double shifted wasting time with tootoo and another stiff.

It's pretty simple, guys. Kane has one goal. Panarin has none. Toews has none. Anisimov has none. Hossa has none. And the defense is getting its doors blown off by Nashville's speed.

This is a Nashville team beating a Chicago team by beating the Hawks at their own game: owning the puck. And it's a team-wide meltdown by the Hawks, save Crawford.

Getting absolutely ZERO from 19 and 72. This was the bad luck game. Shit bounce for the first goal, missed call for the second. Time to rally.... Better fuckin do something

Is it they are old?
Is it Q?
Or is it just hockey being hockey?

It's probably a little bit of all of the above but mostly the third point. We all have seen how a hot goalie can take you to the cup championship and I think their goalie is just hot. Will be interesting to see how much this team changes but I don't see anything drastic

Sometimes upsets happen.

I think this is the biggest disappearing act I have ever seen.
At least there will be a new division champion banner raised next season.

Grab the forks, guys.
We have a whole summer to ask what went wrong.

That being said, what the **** constitutes goaltender interference?
Why is it so difficult for officials to get this call correct?
It seems that the more rules the NHL adds, the more blind eyes it creates in game situations.

Add Keith to that mix. He's been responsible for 3 out of the 8 GA (Oduya 2, Crawford 2, Hossa 1, and a botched GI call on 1)

Hawks have been outskated, outpassed, outshot, outhit.... but IMO much of that doesn't matter, the big difference is that they have been outworked.

I am not saying I don't see effort out there, god knows Crow is standing on his head, and some of the guys are working their asses off on defense.

But overall, especially in Nashville's zone or in the neutral zone, I don't see the effort.... I see alot of wasted puck possession... so many board battles we lose and then take a breather while Nashville counter attacks 4 on 2 or 4 on 3 and have us on our heels without any trouble walking into our zone.

Nashville's forecheck is relentless, their neutral zone pressure is relentless, and if somehow you get into their zone, they are suffocating the puck carriers.... every guy on their team is giving 1000% on every shift while I seem to see alot of our guys dogging it.... even in our own zone that half-a-**** attempt to even get it across the blue line by Hartman or Schmaltz....

I think Nashville is playing a great game against us, no doubt, but other than part of the 2nd period last night, the Hawks have dogged it every other shift.... alot of passing to no one.... passes that are so errant you wonder wtf they were thinking... shots so errant you cannot tell if it was a shot or a pass.... alot of panicked attempts at Rinne with no one in position to get a rebound at all... alot of playing scared and tired/lazy.

The Hawks deserve to lose this series right now, Nashville deserves to win it.

That about sums it up. I'm glad you didn't put Rinne as a reason as I don't believe he's been a focal point in this series. The Hawk shot placement has been atrocious...low or right into his mid-section. A lot of it because their passing has been as bad as the shooting has. Best setups hitting behind the shooter or on his off shooting side or even worse...in his skates. Their backup goalie wouldn't be doing any worse that Rinne has.

This feels much like Elliot last year.... they rode Elliot's nuts and now they are riding Rinne's nuts.

Both are good/very good goalies.... but the job the D and FWDs are doing in front of them is what is making the difference.

When you suffocate a team and force them into panicked decisions, they get to where the best they can do just to put shots on net is throw it into the bread basket and it makes life easy for the goalie.

I felt St Louis' defense was woefully discredited and if anyone is raving about Rinne they are missing the job his skaters are doing in front of him.

Rinne has played well, his skaters have played excellent.

Well I definitely did not expect to be going into today with the Bulls having more playoff wins than the Hawks. The Hawks have come back from just about every kind of deficit before, but it just does not feel good right now.

Rinne has been fine but how many really difficult saves has he had to make? Not only are the Hawks not blocking his vision much, they're not making him move laterally in the paint which has always been the kryptonite for bigger goalies like him.
