Next to the beef gristle mill
My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Bulls
The Bobcats manage to upset us early on every season.

Weak win? Maybe.

the good news Deng has stepped his play up
the bad news hes driving his price up

its a double edged sword

(unless they can find someway to land a player like Horford with Deng being the main piece lol...but thats doubtful)

im not dissing him nor did i sell out...i would still love to have him back...but its going on 3 years ive been on here arguing about bringing Ben Gordon back and it has got nowhere but abuncha derailed threads...the guys that dont want him back are not gonna change their mind....and im tired of posting the same argument over and over why the idea of bringing him back is not bad...whats the point? other than to be annoying? (which i dont want to be)...i dont think he will ever come back anyway...that bridge is burned

as i said in another thread i'll leave the sig up but im gonna move on from discussing him in every thread

LoL, a mod scared you, didnt they? :rolling:

I read an interesting but true article the other day.
The link is below....

http://www.deadlinedetroit.com/articles/7142/yashinsky_the_sad_tale_of_ex-piston_ben_gordon

So you dont have to hit the ink, ill just paste it so you can read it here.
This is some real ass shit.

"SAD BEN"

It was just four years ago that Gentle Ben was the prince of the NBA playoffs.*
He’d just finished an epic series for the Bulls, going toe-to-toe with Ray Allen and the Celtics over seven classic games.
*Gordon was a scoring dynamo.
*He’d attack the rim, he was automatic at the line, and he could light you up from long range.
* In a Game 2 loss, he went off for 42 in The Garden.*

The Pistons immediately snapped him with a lucrative offer.
*Who knew that the guy would never be a factor in the NBA again?
The Brutal YearsHis three seasons in Detroit were simply brutal.
Quick, name your favorite memory of Ben Gordon in a Pistons’ uniform.
* Nothing coming to mind?
* You’re not to blame.
* There was truly nothing to remember.
* It’s like one of the old Police Academy sequels.
* You know you probably saw it, but recalling specific details or lines of dialogue is near-impossible.
*There are different theories as to why Gordon flopped in Motown.
* Perhaps he was one of those guys that got the big bucks and decided to go on auto-pilot.
*Maybe it was the instability with the coaching staff, forever yo-yo’ing Gordon’s minutes and shuttling him back and forth from the starting lineup to the bench.
* Or maybe he’s just one of those guys that got old really fast.

*NBA SIberiaToday, Gordon is a 30-year-old waterboy for the Charlotte Bobcats, the modern NBA Siberia.
* You go play in Charlotte and the rest of the country basically assumes you moved to a different planet.
* To make matters worse, Gordon isn’t even seeing the floor.
*Getting benched by the Bobcats is the ultimate career low; rumors have circulated that Gordon is now entertaining offers from a local B’nai B’rith chapter.
* The pay will be significantly less, but he’s been guaranteed a starting position and a free men’s club membership to the synagogue of his choice.
Thus far, Gordon has appeared just once in five games; nine sad minutes of mop-up duty in a blowout loss to the Pelicans (still feels like that team name is not real).
*
Journeyman guard Ramon Sessions plays extensively while Gordon, a one-time leading scorer on an NCAA championship and the toast of the basketball world just four years prior, sits at the end of the bench waiting for the final horn to sound

.* It’s one of the stranger career arcs you will find.
*Typically, quality NBA shooters can play forever.
* Reggie Miller hung around until he was 40.
* Same for Dale Ellis.
* Ray Allen will be 39 next year and is still a feared offensive weapon.
*But the way things are trending for Ben Gordon, it would be a surprise if he was still an employed professional basketball player two years from now; a swift and mysterious fall from grace that may never be fully explained or understood.

History has shown now that it is true that Beng Gordon needed the Bulls more than the Bulls needed him.
I hate saying it, but its true.
I wonder if he feels that all that money Detroit gave him was worth it now.
Its like they bought his career and threw it in the dumpster.
Had he just accepted Paxs money, he would of had a good career and probably re-upped with a better contract by now.
Its a damned shame.
He has had his pay day so i hope he at least invested his money properly because i dont think he will ever make money like that in his life again.

Had Detroit offered anyone that type of money, i dont think many would of turned it down.
Unfortunatly he sold his soul and basketball career to one of the Bulls longtime most hated rival in the process which possibly have destroyed his carma........carma is real........It alonst reminds me of when Horace Grant left the Bulls for the root of all evil.....Left a sour taste in Bulls fans mouths....But who had the last laugh.....But at least he didnt become a fucking Piston or Knick.......But he unlike Ben Gordon still had a solid career and stayed around the league.....LoL, bad comparrison maybe?
I think i see why Bulls fans on forums have not much good to say about Ben.
Bulls fans loved Ben and appreciated him, and its Ben who sold out Bulls fans for the root of all evil, not the other way around.
Bulls players should never ever become gotdamned Pistons..........it just aint natural nor is it good carma...

I know people are tired of Ben Gordon topics, but this has to be one of the saddest stories in NBA history.
Ive never seen a player go from sugar to shit so fast and so young.
He had the world at his finger tips, and with help from bad luck he was completly destroyed.

Being the last man on the bench for the lowly Bobcat franchise is about as bad as it gets.

The one thing that does make B.G discussions on Bulls messageboards still relevent, is the fact that Ben in the right situation CAN turn his career around. The Bulls have OBVIOUS scoring issues still to this day.
Put both of them together, and there can be sucess for both the Bulls and B.G together.

I dont see Ben being motivated or able to turn things around in any other situation but the Bulls.
My suggestion to Ben, is to finish out this last year of his contract and then call John Paxson and beg to come home.
And he should just accept the Sanford and Son scraps Pax would offer him.
Bens got plenty of money and can afford a major pay cut if he feels his career is worth saving.

Its the only way........And it fits perfectly....

Chicago Tribune. Ben Gordon open to returning to Chicago in 2014

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sport...ulls-bobcats-chicago-20131119,0,5978306.story

Here are quotes from Ben Gordon interview with Chicago Tribune.

If there's one thing Ben Gordon learned the last time he entered free agency and left the Bulls for the Pistons, it's to never say never. That's why, if by some minuscule chance, the Bulls come calling next summer, looking for scoring punch off the bench, he'd listen."I had a lot of success here, had a great time here," Gordon said. "I'm not in position to rule anybody out."Of course, the Bulls would only do so with a minimum contract — and maybe not even then. But Gordon, who is finishing the five-year, $55 million deal he signed in 2009, made it sound as if money isn't his main priority — especially since he has fallen out of the rotation with the Bobcats."I'm at the point now where I would love to win a championship before I'm done playing," Gordon said. "I won one in high school and college, so I want to put myself in that type of situation. I feel it would complete my career."

Theres hope so dont give up Poodhini. :)

The sick thing is that might actually happen.
:obama:

If he's smart and true to his word, then that's what he should do. That or go out west and sign with OKC. San Antonio wouldn't dare take them.

LoL
you sure picked the worst time to stop talking bout Ben.
He is the talk of the forum right now, LMAO.

Could it be just to spite you?

Well stick to your word then, because when Ben is wearing a Bulls Jersey in 2014, dont you dare say the word "Ben Gordon" then either. :D

You basically are bailing out of the plane with your parachute right before it lands at the next terminal to pick up Ben and his suitcases.........Damed shame too, because it seems like you left your baggage on the plane before you jumped.l.........Since Ben wont be getting a very significant paycheck from Pax when he lands in Chicago, purhaps he can sell the items in your abandoned suitcase at a pawn shop or even be a guest on the Hardcore Pawn Chicago show on Tru TV.........
