The Bulls could have gone 66-0 and people would still doubt them and say that the Heat are favorites, so this really won't make a difference to those that are in the media or those that actually have negative opinions on the Chicago Bulls.

Thats entirely true, because the regular season means little. The 72-10 Bulls would have been a massive failure if they failed to win the championship.

How can a team that loses 10 times in 82 games, lose 4 games in 1 week and not win the championship? No Regular season means a lot.It is a clear picture of how possible is for each team to win the championship..

I usually can piece together what you're trying to say but this one just flies over my head, especially the 1st sentence. Are you saying the regular season IS important? And that by watching a team in the regular season you'll know if they have championship potential?

The 2006-2007 Dallas Mavericks (67-15) disagree.

Yea tell that to all the teams clamoring for the final seeds in the playoffs. The regular season DOES matter. I'm sick of hearing this crap that it doesn't. Seeding in the playoffs matters too.

It's this mentality that "Oh we are really good & will make the playoffs anyway, so that's all that matters". The playoffs matter more since the championship is the ultimate goal, but this perpetuated myth that regular season games don't I find ridiculous.

Well if that's what he was getting at I don't agree. Right off the top of my head I can name the Warriors vs Mavs series about 5 years back. Anything can happen in the playoffs. Dirk was the MVP that season, and the Warriors were just a band of thugs who came out swinging and ultimately knocking out the top dog. Regular season doesn't tell the whole story. It's when the pressure's on that counts.

I said it matters little. It only matters to the fact of the reasons you pretty much listed. Seeding purposes, and then the little guys fighting for the final seeds (In which most years they lose right away). We had HCA throughout the playoffs last year and lost in the Conference Finals, so we didnt take our advantage in that case. Boston went to the Finals as the #4 seed in 2010. Jordan won two championships without HCA throughout the playoffs. Dallas won last year without HCA. Its a nice bonus to have, but it doesnt entirely matter and things like health matter more than winning regular season games.

To add onto that. The Spurs last year won 61 games, had the #1 seed in the West and lost to the Grizzlies. The Cavs lost to Boston in the 2nd round in 2010, Magic in ECF in 2009, The Pistons were #1 seed for quite some time and won once, and went to the Finals one other time.

Parker knows he can't keep up w/ Rose all night - he's gonna try to get him in foul trouble.
