Can't let Madbum go 9 shut out innings. If we can get him out of the game at any point (even if it's after the 8th) - I like our chances. Well, unless Jake gives up 5. Then we're screwed LOL.

The best chance is to get him early. Put up a pair in the first and then they might start to panic.

The problem with that is that he's also a good hitter. I know what you're thinking....get ahead and maybe they pinch hit for him...unfortunately, the only way to get him out of the game is to pound his pitching.

Good luck with that.....

Not going to be easy. During his 2014 playoff run, Madbum gave up a total of 6 runs in 52 innings. In one start he gave up 3 runs, so he is human -- but barely. The odds are he'll give up 0 runs. I just hope we get him out, period. Jake needs to be at the top of his game tonight.

I'll say this about Jake -- while he's been inconsistent lately, his best is better than any of our other guys. I just hope tonight is one of his "on" nights. We're gonna need it to slay Madbum in SF.

Lineup has been updated. Soler in left batting 4th. Zobie in RF(I dont know why Maddon would do that. Its not like he has logged in a ton of innings in the OF in his career. Why of why Maddon!!!!).

Montero starting is not surprising. Arrieta has been terrible with Contreras behind the plate. He could have went Ross, but I assumed he has always wanted Montero catching Jake.

Should see Almora come in for Jorgie and Ben move to left.

I believe I read that Bum has not given up a run in 23 innings when facing elimination. That is crazy shit. Sure would be nice to see that streak end.

Not if Bum is still pitching

If he's going defensive replacements, that means they have the lead and they don't really care about the offense they're taking out. If that's the case, they're going to go with the vastly superior RF (Heyward) over the slightly better bat vs a lefty (Almora) that you're going to see taken out of the game soon anyway if you're leading.

If Jake is on, all we need is one 2-3 run HR and we should be good.

No, the odds are not that he will give up zero.

Hell, down the stretch, when they had to win, he gave up 3 early. (He stayed in the game and won, but never mind that part.)

Cubs will beat Bum tonight.

Couldnt get him, but Bum control is not there yet. Got to pounce soon before he locks in.

Yeah, Posey fouling off several led to many more pitches.

The good news? We have terrific relief pitching.
