INJURY UPDATES
Day to day
SS Javier Báez (right hand soreness)
Expected return: Day to day
Báez exited the Cubs' 4-3 win over the Giants on June 6 after grounding out to end the seventh inning. The shortstop could be seen shaking his right hand as he walked slowly out of the box and back to the dugout. The Cubs announced that Báez was dealing with right thumb soreness, but manager David Ross added after the game that the wrist was also sore after the shortstop made awkward contact with the pitch from Dominic Leone. Ross said Báez would be re-evaluated prior to Chicago's June 7 game in San Diego.

OF Joc Pederson (right lower back tightness)
Expected return: Day to day
Pederson exited the Cubs' June 5 game in San Francisco in the fifth inning after tweaking his back at the wall in left field two innings earlier. Pederson hit the wall awkwardly going back for a ball that Alex Dickerson hit for a home run. Pederson was out of the lineup on June 6, but manager David Ross said the outfielder was doing "much better."

Expected return: TBD
Bote joined the Cubs in San Francisco and went through some agility drills pregame on June 2. Hoerner was placed on the 10-day injured list on May 26 after leaving the previous night's game with a hamstring strain that he sustained as he ran to first on a sixth-inning groundout. He fell to the ground in noticeable pain and immediately grabbed at his hamstring, but he was able to leave the field under his own power.
