I don't see how he is overvalued by cub fans. He is one of 6 catchers to have an OPS over .800 since 07 and is also in the top 5 in wOBA. I fail to see how A) we overvalue him and B) he is not a beast. A top tier hitting catcher is something that you can't just find anywhere. And Geo is SUPER cheap.

It limited at bats, he was doing as well as/ better than Pena. But now that Pena has a whopping three long balls, he has more than Colvin's two.
And yeah, I've got a man crush on him and I'm definitely not ready to sign him away because last season he was getting pretty regular starts and now I can think of like three games off the top of my head that he started.
But right now maybe being in Iowa is what he needs because he's not going to get out of this slump sitting on the end of the bench spitting sunflower seeds off Quade's head.

I agree. I like Colvin I think he can be basically Soriano from the left side. He is the polar opposite of Fukudome, and Fukudome might be what we need right now.
Regardless he should be in AAA getting at bats rather than rotting on the bench.

Go look at his career numbers. This guy has been horrible since he has been here. Yes a decent start to season, but wont last imo. This is another failed jim hendry experiment and after his contract is up, he better be on someone elses roster.
he is 2-0 with a 3.43 era and in 21 IP he has 12 hits 8 ER and 19 walksin 2011

I said of late....
regardless he does have 22 strikeouts during that time as well.
Over his last 18 innings he only has 11 walks, which isnt good but down quite a bit from where he was. His ERA over that time is also 2.50.
And while he is walking a lot of people on the season hitters are still only hitting 162/340/216 on the year. So while he is walking a lot of guys, he isn't letting them make contact too well. That's a good thing.
We should not give up easily on Shark, not when he does have such good stuff. He just needs to work on his control.
