If you could kill one person today and get away with it would you kill:
1: Kershaw
2: the Umpire
3: Joe Buck
Wow.
We're supposed to want to kill someone over a sporting event.
I feel like I am at a Trump rally.
Seriously????
You have a problem with the play??
You're the only one.

The biggest play came with two outs in the seventh, when Kershaw got Baez to line out to deep center and strand a runner at first. Statcast™ data says that balls hit with the same exit velocity (102.5 mph) and launch angle (24 degrees) as Baez's have gone for a home run 67 percent of the time in 2016. The batting average with those parameters is .899.
Thats how close were to tying the game. Kershaw said he thought it was at least a double off the bat. Cubs pitched well. I like our chances the rest of the series. I think we will see a slightly different lineup against Hill and when we see Kershaw again.
This isn't really a criticism since Maddons pinkie knows more about baseball than I ever will.... But I really hope they tweak that lineup some. You can't have 3 "guaranteed" outs, and we have three guys that just aren't getting it done right now.
I don't think you can do anything with Rizzo. He's the leader of this team and he probably has to stay put. Russell needs to move down the order and Baez needs to move up. Heyward should probably not start against Hill but I get the defensive angle. I trust in Maddon and the Cubs braintrust to do this right. We'll win on Tuesday.
I'm thinking Russell might sit he next one out. His problems with left handed pitching is hardly a secret. I'm guessing he opts for a more offensive lineup with Zobie moving to second, Baez to short, Almora to right and Soler in left with liberal defensive substitutions if they get a lead late.
For the first time all season...I really wish we had the big bopper Kyle back and healthy.

I'd be OK with sitting Russell, although it is a little panicky for my tastes. Heyward has to sit simply because putting Almora in RF doesn't hurt the defense much. Pitching and defense got us this far and I think if we're to win this thing that's what's going to win it now. I can't argue that a little offense wouldn't be nice. Baez needs to hit 5th.
Maddon's got to try something. You can say the Cubs got beat by a great pitcher which would be true but the fact of the matter is that if you throw the 8th inning of game 1, the Dodger's have out scored them....5-3. They need to snap out of this and they need to do it soon.
Soler is strictly a fastball hitter and if you noticed he has only received breaking balls in the playoffs. He is a strike out, rally killing machine in this scenarioI get you, and you may be right, I've just kind of resigned myself to the fact that if we're going to win it's going to be on pitching, defense and timely rallies. I hate to sacrifice much defense for offense that might not come. I can go with the idea of Soler in LF but here's the thing, I have no idea if he's going to hit. He's looked anemic in a few chances. If we win this series and even beyond it's going to be run prevention at the forefront, not necessarily dynamic offense, at least not consistently.
