It was a good call on Kaner's high stick.

No pps at all tonight against the big bad flyers who lead the league in penalties; not that it matters with how the pp has looked.

In terms of the new guys last night...

Shaw had a solid game overall last night. The only issue I had was his fight - he needs to pick his spots better. Blackhawks score a goal, get the crowd out of it and then Shaw fights (on the road) and gets the crowd back into it.

I thought Olsen has a nice game as well. Played a pretty safe game and that is what the Bhawks need right now. Also had some nice shots on net.

Jimmy Hayes...I'm conflicted on. I know he has goals in two straight games and he does look solid at times, but it really takes him a while to get going and I haven't been thrilled with him in the defensive zone.

On to the other players...

Frolik has played a few really solid games in a row now. He has some jump in his step.

Brunette, Bickell, Bolland, and Stalberg all looked lost last night. Bickell was terrible, and I mean terrible, in the defensive zone and on the boards. Bolland was in la la land. Brunette did way too many circles last night. Stalberg didn't use his speed at all really - and I'm not a fan of Stalberg in the Hawks top six...he just isn't creative enough for the other 2 guys, which is why I liked him on the 3rd line, where creativity should be a no no for the most part.
