You trade Darling at the deadline and make a cup run. Then you bring over the foreign goalie next year. Keep Crow.

But I mentioned this a couple games ago and it continues, Darling has been a wall. A couple games without Toews we had virtually no offensive momentum for periods at a time and he stood up.

As for the Rangers, Vesey and Hayes live on so I am not happy.

3 points or whatever. ok. But disappointing.

Apologies for slacking on the IGT. I'll make sure the next one is done on time.

You keep the best goalie in the Western Conference at a $6m cap hit.

I agree.... if we need to trade someone, I think it has to be Seabrook..... we have pieces on defense now we could spare... if you trade Crow, you are down to Darling and alot of uncertainty.

If you trade Seabs you still have Keith, Hammer, Campbell, Kempny, Forsling, TVR, Rozival, and Pokka/Svedberg in Rockford.

I would hate to see Seabs go, but I think it would be preferable to losing Crow.

We are spoiled with 2 very good goal tenders, and dare I say 1 of them in Crow being top 5 on a regular basis... imagine if you trade him and something happens to Darling or Darling slumps.... we have guys in Rockford, but anything that can get us to a Cup?

The cap dictates everything along with the NMC/NTC that the Blackhawks have handed out. There may be a time where trading Crawford makes sense to the Blackhawks. Would hate to see it happen but I could certainly see it as a possibility with the situation the Blackhawks have "put" themselves in.

George McPhee has already said that he fully expects a whole lot of trading this year at the deadline and before the expansion draft so that teams won't lose players for nothing. Things could certainly get interesting this year and McPhee even said to expect a "redistribution of players" leading up to the expansion draft by teams.

Yeah, I think Seabrook is going to be moved in the upcoming offseason. Like you said, I think that's the position where the Hawks are best prepared to replace someone from one of the top spots in the lineup.

It's absolutely hilarious to me when people start freaking out when Darling has a great game like he did last night, as he's prone to do and suggest that we won't be able to afford him because he's playing like a much better goalie..... but when Crawford plays like that people act like he's way over paid. So when Darling plays lights out we're worried someone is going to give him 6 mil, when crawford plays lights out that's nice, but he's not worth 6 mil. We've got a great goalie tandem. Let's not worry about having two good goalies, only worry about having none, which we don't have. Having two gives us a lot of credit to play with.

And he makes more than Keith last I checked.... if you move him you can afford to pay Panarin.

Still does. More than Hjammer, too.

I don't want to think about next season and how much they're going to have to pay Panarin because every goal he scores, the price goes up. Especially when he scores ones like that one-timer he nailed on Sunday night.

Keith is a recapture risk, though...plus he's on a retirement contract so, much like Crosby to Toews/Kane, it's an apples to road apples comparison.

Exactly, and let's be honest here...We could have Dallas' goalie cap hell issues...

Crawford was playing in accordance with the past 2 years when he was carrying the D until he got appendicitis...so it's not like he was Huet in net this year. No matter who the market dictates the 'hawks can keep it's not like it's going to be a money soak for the 'hawks.
