I know I may ruffle some feathers here, but Crawf & Emery are playing severely over their head.

Emery should get a nice 2 yr contract from another team playing like he has.

Then he'll revert back to the sieve that he is.

they are still making insane saves that they both wouldnt make last year.

This was my first thought to the inquiry as well. Over their heads? maybe a bit, but both goalies are playing better, plain and simple. Maturation at the position, and as someone said earlier, better defense in front of them helps quite a bit.

Emery is playing out of his mind, not that I am complaining, but I completely expect a return to his normal form at some point. I think the big change in Crawford this year has been the fact that he is staying back in the net and using his size instead of trying to come out and be aggressive like he was last season. I have no idea why they tried to change his playing style going into last season. And yes, the defense is much better this season. Leddy back on the third pairing where he still belongs, and Hammer with a return to the Cup year form with a good steady partner. Oh, and two competent guys as the #6 and #7 instead of a guy like Scott back there.

Great first two periods. Other than a shift or two, I think the Hawks have easily carried the play. If Howard wasn't standing on his head, this game might be out of hand already.

yep. howard has been the savior for them in this game. I hope we can just get one in and hold em.

I know that we've got this point streak going and all...and it's fine and good and has been incredible to watch....

but I don't want this game to go into OT. I want to win. in regulation. in detroit. Call me selfish -- but knowing we're in every game makes me want to win every. single. game. It's an asinine thought -- just like scoring a point in our first 21 was. Go 'Hawks!
