no I don't agree that kidding around saying you're stupid and going to hell on a message board is going to far. Bringing up real life personal stuff cause your feelings got hurt is. I've been guilty of it too. I ain't mad though. I just know where we stand

So in your head, calling a person stupid and then telling someone that they're going to burn in a lake of fire for all of eternity (a thing that you actually believe) isn't "real life personal stuff." That makes sense.

So you pick and choose when you're a Christian. Tell me again how you're not a hypocrite?

All Christians are hypocrites. All humans are hypocrites. The worst hypocrites IMO are Christians who deny god's grace to non-Christians by saying they will face eternal damnation.

And then post funny pictures where a motherfucker is on fire.

Depending on how it's done, that does the exact opposite. The twisted are the ones that say you are fine when really you have cancer and need some kemo. Speaking the truth in love is never being hypocritical for a Christian, right?

I'm not going to get into a whole theological debate because I am firm in my faith, but my perspective is that this "truth" you speak of is something I as a Christian do not know. I believe that the Grace of God goes beyond all human understanding. Denying that grace to someone in saying that they are damned is folly, as this is God's ultimate decision. While the Law should drive people toward the Gospel, I think the approach of "Believe or be damned, repent or be damned" is a shitty way to evangelize.

Again how its done matters but the truth for all whether Christian or not is that we all go to one place or the other upon death.

Well yes, but people don't like hearing that. If you're gonna go "fire and brimstone" what I think HHM is getting at is that you don't stop at the fire and brimstone and instead continue to include the "but Jesus..." as the alternative and thus show God's grace through that. Small detail, but it makes a difference.

:yep:

Very very rarely works...though it's technically valid. That stuff usually don't sit well in the mind of the skeptic.

I don't know if it's technically valid. There are millions of people that have never and will never here the Gospel. I'm not about to say that Christ's sacrifice does not extend to them.

It totally does extend to them. How it works for them is clearly unknown to us, but in terms of people who can hear the Gospel "repent of be damned" is a technically valid thing to say, as insensitive and polarizing as it is. This does not mean you should go around preaching this all the time though obviously.

The bible speaks of two ways. Dependence upon Christ alone or not reaching age of accountability which is determined by God alone. There are no other ways that I am aware of in the Bible.

Really everything a Christian does should be "preaching the gospel." The Gospel is more than salvation, it's life. A Christian's actions should speak the Gospel and if needed use words.

Based on Revelation I think your second case extends to where you don't hear the Gospel. The sense I get out of Revelation is that everyone gets a chance to accept/reject God. How that works for those who never hear the Gospel, died young, unborn babies, etc, is determined by God somehow...we don't really know. Seems like a cop out answer of sorts, but I'll trust God's judgment on this one to be as fair as can be.

Well...yes...but we tend to suck at doing that so words are "always necessary"

I should note that this is not always the case, but generally so. Christians suck at acting like they should...we have plenty of examples for this. Thus the word (or Word if you rather) is much more necessary to "make up for" our shortcomings in living out the Gospel. Actions do speak louder than words as they say, so clearly the goal is to do that rather than using words.

Oh It's totally God. I think for those that never hear it maybe that they look for a Savior similar to the OT, but I'm not really clear there but that is where I would lean.

Yeah, I doubt anyone gets saved by someone offering to pay more for a food bill because the waitress forgot to charge them for the coffee.
