Bah! Illini show some hustle now and then, sometimes even for a whole game. But 4 in a row?

They probably need to be in KenPorn 40-50 to make the tournament, correct?
They won't make the tournament. If they win enough games in February, it will be interesting to see if they could get an NIT bid, though.

Very unlikely. Even if they win all their winable games, and that is far from guaranteed, they'll be 13-18 regular season. Even two wins in the BTT, and they're 15-19. Most likely they finish something like 13-20 or 12-21.

If they get to 7 Big Ten wins, that's something that can at least give us a little hope for the future.

They would have to win the conference tournament

Ok. I'm not sure why you quoted my post. I specifically stated they wouldn't be making the NCAA tournament.

I meant that their only path to the tournament would be a conference tournament championship

Ok. Well they aren't going to do that, which is why I didn't think winning 4 straight games to win the conference tournament was worth mentioning. While somewhat of a stretch, next up would be to see if they could win enough games this month to get an NIT berth. It's hard to deny #3 SOS and #74 Kenpom. I have no idea if the team would accept a bid to that CBI or whatever it's called. I'd want the extra practices.

This team reminds me of the 98-99 team that won 3 straight in the tourney only to get blown out by MSU(?) in the final. Very young team with Cory Bradford that year

Illini have 0% chance for the NIT. They have 1% chance for the NCAA tourney (only by winning the B10 tournament).

Simple stuff here parade.
