I hadn't heard about this until today and I may be wrong about the deadline, but evidently we had an exemption since 2005 that is about to expire and we haven't corrected the issue.

Renew those passports, Illinoisans!

Sorry, I can't edit the thread title to say Illinois instead of Chicago. Also, the rule takes effect "120 days from 1/10/16".

You have a city ID... WTF
Why would that be good anywhere outside the city?

Why are they issued... Never mind, voting I'm guessing.

Yes, I think you will have to have a passport in Louisiana from what I read. Pretty freaking ridiculous.

I'm TSA certified so I get through the airport check in line in under 3 minutes

Louisiana is one of the other 4 states,eh? Yes, I skimmed but I always bring our passports just to get the **** through. I get that they fight it because it is 'unfunded' but at least here we have to renew every 4 years, anyway

Had lunch with my best friend and he brought up Traffic. I hadn't though of them in forever, but they were the rage in the early 70s and sold a zillion records. Steve Winwood was so underrated and that band made about 4 great albums. Winwood and Clapton have been great freinds all the way back to the Blind Faith days and when Clapton was hanging with Delaney and Bonney and Duane Allman

It's the real ID act.

They want to end 2016 with everyone having a REAL ID.

Saw it on the news I know nothing about it. Good or bad?

well, bad for illinoisans if you forget to bring your passport even when flying domestically. maybe it's blown out of proportion and they won't enforce it but I know I don't want to take that chance and I never underestimate how shitty the TSA can be
