So the wife and I are finalizing the initial paperwork for adopting from the Philipines. We've paid most of the fees already but we are still like $10000 away from all the immigration fees and all the other fees that are involved. If you would like to donate PM me and I'll see if I can't set up a go fund me or something. I think you can get a tax deduction if I do it right. Or if you have questions post away.

NB4 "Why not adopt locally?"

We have and may again in the future.

Edit: New donation site

You're a good man but I don't understand going outside the country when there are so many kids here that need a loving family that I have no doubt you will provide for this child.

Did Jesus tell you to adopt internationally? Sounds like an awful idea.

Our daughter is adopted locally. We will also probably adopt again locally. But call it a call from God or the universe or whatever, we feel this to be necessary. There are so many orphans across the world that will never see permanent family homes as children.

First of all the adoption rules are different in the US versus international. Some people prefer closed adoptions and also being able to pick who they adopt, etc. There are lots of reasons people may choose one over the other. My wife and I adopted internationally 8 years ago and would not change the decision we made to find our daughter internationally.

We have a couple of Phillipino girls a block away from us who were adopted at like 3rd and 5th grade ages. They've adjusted well. We support an orphanage foundation in the country our daughter came from.

Sweet. We're getting connected to some Filipino community organizations in our area and hope to travel as much as possible to the Philippines once we adopt. The paperwork is crazy. We're currently waiting to be matched.

I should change my name to Charlie Brown. I do know a kid named Charlie Daniels. I laugh every time I see him.

Why does it matter where the child is from? No child is worth more than another.

Who gives a shit where someone chooses to adopt from? If you are that concerned about all the kids in the US that need families then you go adopt one of them. At the end of the day, people should do whatever they are comfortable with.

McFly, I am getting an error message. What kind of shady racket you setting up?
