There's a conspiracy theory about the Mavs owners destroying the team on purpose so they can devalue it enough and create enough dismay within the Dallas area for a move to Vegas.

Basically the Seattle-OKC playbook, except they are doing it with the roster and fans first, because the AAC doesn't have the capacity limits of Key Arena.

I don't know if I believe any of it. But then again, I didn't really believe Seattle would lose the Sonics when people started that conspiracy theory about OKC nearly a year before it happened.
Yeah but Seattle wasn’t exactly a rabid fan base though. Dallas has very loyal fans right? They usually do great in attendance.

I don't know which fanbase reached whatever higher status between the two. But I do believe reading about Supersonic merchandise outselling Mariner or Kraken merchandise EVEN now. Seattle fans are pretty dedicated, to the point that anyone that ever wants to be elected as Mayor, turns it into the campaign promise to bring the Sonics back! :ROFLMAO:
If that's not rabid, I don't know what is.

I was in Seattle last September.. there is Sonics stuff everywhere.. and there were lots of shirts like "Stolen" on them implanted over the Sonics logo. Soo yeah.. Seattle is still quite bitter about losing the Sonics.

Not that we don't know this already, but if you wanted to know the perception of the Bulls as a franchise around the league...this is it.

Draymond thinks the Bulls should have gotten thrown Castle in the deal to be fair.

"That's a franchise that don't do smart things, and for a long time. Got nothing for D Rose, got nothing for Brand, let Jordan himself walk in his prime for nothing over hiring a coach he wanted.. that's just a franchise that don't do smart things."

Word.

Yeah as it turned out Teague was on his way from mid-lotto to the second round for a reason.

I get that was posted to show the perception players have the Bulls, but his framing is kind of unfair. The real issue is that they waited too long to move on. Zach was on the block for a year with little interest.

Still, the overall perception of the Bulls as an organization which consistently makes dumb decisions holds true, regardless of the specifics on Zach. This FO's problem has been holding onto players for too long, that is true. But even trading Caruso, you can argue his value was at least respectable (and technically Giddey has been the best asset to come of the Zach/Demar/Caruso trades thus far) at the time and AK still got less back than the expectation. So as a player, particularly a star level player, would I trust this organization to properly build around me after seeing what has happened in the last few years? Probably not. Perhaps in 2021 they would've felt differently, but the situation has changed since then.

Giddy is hopeless pathetic garbage you cant win with. He is Vinny Del Negro unless he can become Steve Kerr.

I hate his spacing, his matador style defense, and his high dribble.

Poor mans Kurt rambas so far. Don't get how he is in this particular league.

Caruso was a total bad ass and part of a winning formula.

That's basically the point. If the best asset AK can get back is a very flawed player in exchange for an elite defender, it doesn't exactly inspire confidence to the outside looking in.

Personally I don't think Giddey is quite as bad as you make him out to be, but he's not amazing by any means. Caruso was also a one sided player, but his one side was elite

Caruso's improved 3 point shooting makes him a valuable 3D archetype, and he goes beyond individual defense to something of an inspirational team defender, but I agree with your more balanced assessment of things wholeheartedly, I was being a bit harsh.

Correct, Caruso is a 3&D guy, but the 3pt side of things hasn't necessarily been proven. He was good with us though, most definitely. Ultimately, you get Caruso for his defense, hustle, and other intangibles. His offense is gravy. If he's hitting at 40% from 3 like he was last year with us, well you're just ecstatic then.

This year Caruso has been super injured and even after his recent hot streak of shooting is averaging just 40% FG% and 32% from 3, but again I think OKC considers any offense they get from him gravy. His primary value comes from all those other things.
