Well, where do you stand?
EDIT: Also, do you prefer pie or cake?

Closer to pie in construction, but I'd go neither.
Cheesecake has enough difference from pie/cake and enough of its own variations to be its own category.
I would argue a french silk pie is the closest textural resemblance. Possibly key lime.
Sure, but cheesecake is unique in its construction/ingredients from most pie.
It is different enough from traditional pies to be its own thing.
If I had to classify it as pie or cake, absolutely pie.
To a degree, but much like french silk, the finished product is not put in to the oven- the final step is refrigeration.
I would argue all cakes are cooked, yet not all pies are.
The crust, the pour, the cooling, the texture to a degree, all common traits cheesecake shares with dishes that are undoubtedly pie.
I think an Ice Cream Cake is just an Ice Cream pie.Next question.
Is Ice Cream Cake a pie then?
I think an Ice Cream Cake is just an Ice Cream pie.

Cheesepie just sounds gross lol so I think when they named it they chose cake instead to make it more appealingCheesecake has cake in the name. It is a cake. If it were a pie it would be called cheesepie. I have spoken.
