I've had to give up Strongbow because they added 8 grams of sugar. I love 3 Floyds Dreadnaught but having 12 of those in a night seems excessive. Should I stick to Daisy Cutter or dematriculate to Keystone? Please, no PBR comments.

Love me 3 Floyd's. Go there as often as possible. Great beer and cool people who work there. I will say, I was out there last week at 1115 when my buddy and I finished up some work. I was like shit they open 1130, just wanna grab a 6 pack.

Literally, people started to line up our the door to get inside and grab their beer. I thought it was kinda ridiculous; I mean shit we drove past n just wanted to get some take home beer . I didn't think people lined up outside lol. Apparently it's for zombie dust and such; the lady behind us told me she's seen the line all the way out to the street. That's ridiculous!!

I love their beer but Jesus, thats insane. It's def a novelty and supply and demand for these guys. Much as I love em-

One thing that dissaplonted me was hearing how they treated this lady. They make you wait outside I be called in to sit, instead of having a waiting room. Well, a woman who was pregnant was told to wait out in the rain. I thought that was upsurd. Can't remember where I heard that... But I found that fucking ridiculous.

If you guys like gumball- you need to try Boulevard 80 acre. Tastes just like Gumball and cheaper. Actually, Boulevard is becoming my favorite beer company. I love their stuff.

Strongbow is a terrible cider now. It used to be good when it was a dry cider but they have since changed the formula to copy the popularity of that shit Angry Orchard. Tastes like apple-infused simple syrup now.

dude. I contacted Strongbow directly. Here's the breakdown:

Heineken acquired Bulmer's in 2011.

Heineken knows Americans like everything to be sweeter.

Heineken acquired U.S. import rights for Strongbow this year, and felt it needed to be sweeter with the increasingly competitive cider market. (Which it helped start and also why not keep your original recipe while starting a new one???)

All "original" Strongbow was phased out of inventory as of April.

I will need Nick to confirm this, but one beer purveyor told me that the "original" Strongbow recipe no longer exists.

I'm with TJ, good beer is good beer. I'm drinkin some summer shandy right now. I love that stuff. All about GI Honker's Ale, Guinness, Hoegaarden is fucking amazing, Grolsch, Stella, Warsteiner, Founder's is great but expensive, 3 Floyd's is good. I've had a ton of shit I can't even remember.

EDIT: I know I didn't mention many crafts, but I like beer.

It's horrible that they made that pregnant lady wait outside for such a long time before she could go drink some of their craft brews.

I blow thru about 5 kegs of Strongbow a week...I'm not sure of their recipe across the pond, but I cant get a dry cider from them. Only Crispin.

join the club, hipster. crispin's kinda skunky. you should try blackthorn but it's also got a skunky aftertaste in a way that strongbow never had.

sigh.

I'm moving back to beer. I really like Daisy Cutter for home volume use. I hope that's okay with cafe racers.

Crispin Honey is good for a humid day and Crispin Dry is great with some Vodka in it. I can only have one before I switch over to Wild Turkey or Bookers.

The regular Crispin is a skunkier version of Angry Orchard. I haven't really ventured out into other ciders though

You ever have Dark Lord Ole? I've had it once and it was pretty good, but we were sharing it amongst friends so I basically had enough for a taste. I hear they change the recipe every year, but it seems everytime Dark Lord day comes around I'm broke as **** LOL. Another good stout is Founder's KBS. They have a good breakfast stout too, especially if you like coffee.

And Angry Orchard is pretty close to Wood Chuck.

Keep me posted on your adventures, but if you offer me crispin or angry orchard as an alternative to old strongbow, I will look at you disdainfully.

Old Strongbow is dead.

I'm going back to beer!
