You ever have Dark Lord Ole? I've had it once and it was pretty good, but we were sharing it amongst friends so I basically had enough for a taste. I hear they change the recipe every year, but it seems everytime Dark Lord day comes around I'm broke as **** LOL. Another good stout is Founder's KBS. They have a good breakfast stout too, especially if you like coffee.

I have not, sir. I don't drink stouts because I deal in volume but I will try it now because you're my bro

LOL, yeah, they get costly, especially the ones I mentioned, but they taste fucking awesome after working all day. That and pale ales. Just had Union Jack IPA the other day and it was pretty amazing. It's from Firestone Brewery in California. I hear that shit is expensive and tough to come by too. It sucks when you get a good beer and can't get your hands on it again. I don't even know where to start with that one. At least I know where to find Dark Lord and Founders if I have the cash LOL.

Best IPA on the market? Bell's Two Hearted? thoughts?

Solid beer but I didn't love it. Personally I'm a fan of the overly hoppy west coast style stuff. Lagunitas Sucks, Firestone Union Jack, Ballast Point Sculpin, Victory Dirt Wolf, Alesmith IPA, Zombie Dust...

I could go on and on

It's horrible that they made that pregnant lady wait outside for such a long time before she could go drink some of their craft brews.
You're a strange, strange man.

Overrated as **** from what I hear. A bunch of crazy craft beer nerds did a blind test for their buddy on his B-Day and brought him Dark Lord. He voted Dark Lord like 3rd out of the other stouts he drank. I love me some 3floyds but in all honesty they are just supply and demand/hype. I take these fellas word for it, Dark Lord is a great beer from my understanding but not worth the $30 to walk IN and then the beer on top of that.

I thought hipsters drank port and brandy?

I thought they drank Old Style and PBR because they're so shitty that no one else wants to try to force it into their gullet.

It's rated a 95, & like I said, I'm almost positive they change it every year. I'm not sure which year I had but it was pretty good. You know, you're sounding a lot like vash lately with stories that happened to people you know forming the basis and extent of your knowledge on a given subject.

Ha.It's a weird vibe they get of trying to be masculine and rugged. At my age I notice it, as do my friends who are blue collar. PBR and Whiskey seem to have been generally a blue collar drink regardless of what others think, this is my understanding. Hipsters feel the need to dress with a rugged vibe, drink PBR(it's obscure and cool) and brag about liking whiskey because it gives them a sense of masculinity they obviously lacked throughout highschool and college. I think Coors Banquet is the new hipster drink. Bank me on saying the new instagram 'thing' will be hipsters drinking Coors Banquet because, well, it's Coors Original with an old school looking can. And yes, they will be wearing flannel in all liklihood.

And by the way, it's the overbearing pricing of the beer which makes me think it's all hype. I don't know or understand why that's bad in my acknowlesdgement. I don't claim to know all but I take advice and understanding from people i know that advise in their passion that the $30 to walk into the property, not including the $15 bombers that it's overpriced due to hype.

You go to a liquor store that somehow got a hold of Dark Lord? I've seen it go for $140. But you're right.

Actually, it's that you've never had it, then call it overhyped, that makes your claim bad. Try it, then come to your own conclusion. If you hate it, fine, no big deal. I would just say we have different tastes. It's a highly rated beer with a 15% alcohol content that 3 Floyds originally couldn't keep in stock. The $30 isn't only for the opportunity to buy Dark Lord, it's for the entire event, which includes bands and a shitload of food tents, and it's not like Dark Lord is all you can buy. I'd pay $30 to go out and have a good time with a friend, get a rare good beer, listen to some live tunes, eat some food, and store a couple away to age. Would I pay $140 for it? Hell no. I wouldn't pay $140 for any beer. But reading your stories with all these buddies that give you insight to all these subjects you've never experienced for yourself tends to get pretty annoying. I just think you take too much at face value.

.....To the "buddies" I never met who are well respected in the beer community? Ya, okay. If they say it's not worth the $30 entry fee NOT INCLUDING the beer, I'll believe them. I'm sorry but if you think 3floyds is all that is holy, you're wrong. I'd love to try dark lord(I've heard bout it for a few years now)- but I'm not willing to pay $45 to listen to goth screamo to have the oppurtunity to buy a bomber, which is technically 2 beers. So essentially, if you aren't there for the music(congrats if you are), you are paying around $22 for a beer.

To each his own. But I don't know these guys, I know that they are much more acclimated to the beer world than I am and I take there word for it.
