It's cold. I got mugged at a greyhound bus station at knifepoint when I was 15 there. People say "Beg" instead of "Bag" at the grocery store.

It's pretty nice up there. One of my buddies did his undergrad work at U of MN and lives in Crystal now (just to the NW of Minneapolis). Other than being butt-fucking cold there really isn't anything I've seen in my trips to complain about (well, they sell 3.2 beer in grocery stores, but nothing much other than that). It's a great place if you like fishing/boating and the cities are relatively clean and there aren't really that many shitty areas. Oh, the highway system sucks...that's one thing that was pretty irritating. But, overall, it's pretty solid.

IPA's are to mainstream now and disgusting if you ask me. If I wanted to drink my wife's perfume, I would drink my wife's perfume, not something bottled and called, "Sucks".
Now give me a solid Lager, red or otherwise. Find me a decent pils, Urquell works, or a great Stout. Don't mind a hoppy Ale for those who think I'm anti Hops for not liking IPA's.
Town I reside in, Asheville NC is becoming quite the Beer haven. 18 breweries now including several biggies, like Sierra Nevada, Highland and soon New Belgium. My goal in life to try them all, over and over again.

Also, there is such a thing as good IPAs and bad IPAs. Bad ones often try to cover a lack of flavor with hops. Good ones have a long, crisp, rounded flavor to go with the hops.

I think Laguintas does suck(no Pun), there IPA's are very medicore.
Personally, I think you guys really need to give Boulevard a shot. Fantastic beer. If you are a fan of 3floyds and Gumball head, you owe it to yourself to try out 80 Acre by Boulevard. Tastes just like gumball head and not as expensive. Realizing more that 3floyds is fantastic, but people are nuts about their beer. I've never seen a line outside the door at 1130 on a weekday for a friggin bar to open. It was unreal.
