Yes let’s cling to the mistake by the lake for what again?
YOu and the goofy reporter who I guess you're related are the only ones who think it's a mistake or should do something about the stadium.

Meh. I could still see them (the bears) building a new stadium with either partially funded through taxpayers or a private investment or a combo of both. Hell the McCaskey’s could even sell the team after Virginia passes.
WHy would you sell one of the most valuable franchises in sports? smh

Soldier Field is not a top stadium. Difficult to get in and out of, the Club level walkways/halls/lounge are too small/narrow. The stadium definitely has a “cold” field. Now, the area, being on the lake, the views of the city are attractive. And seating is o.k, fine, good as far as viewing. I am torn as to whether or not they should have built in Rosemont or Gary.
Not one person said it was a top stadium. It's an average stadium that you have a better than average experience in

Ever since they re-did the stadium, there's not a bad seat in the house. It's a shame it looks so terrible from the outside though.
wow. let's not overreact on the looks of it. smh

LOL, yeah, I mean, they even removed the historical status of the stadium because of how shitty it looks, but whatevs. It's not like it's referred to as the mistake by the lake or anything.

Because they don’t want it anymore? Because they don’t really know how to run it? Because it’s worth over a billion dollars and that’s a shit ton of cash?

WestCoastBearsFan.......Is number51, telling the truth?
Not necessarily. If that’s how the McCaskey’s (or whoever owns the bears at the time) want to try and do it more power to them. It’s certainly a possibility.

Chicago deserves a kick ass stadium. They won't get it any time soon.

Awesome that a guy with no skin in the game doesn't care if the taxpayers fund this.

Aren't you a fucking conservative?

Conservatives don't want to pay taxes for poor peoples' welfare. They love bestowing them some corporate welfare, doe. For one example see Gov. Thompson's sweetheart ballpark deal for the White Sox when Reinsdorf threatened to move the team to Tampa in the late 80's.

Exactly. When the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris burns up, conservatives pony up hundreds of millions of dollars to restore it. Fishing village in Indonesia gets devastated by tidal wave...conservatives click on the next news story (Kelly Ripa criticizes Bachelorette!).

And it isn't a top stadium. But you would think as long as the stadium has been there, as long as the Bears have played in it, with the fan base and city's size, Chicago would have a better stadium than most of the league. But they don't. If they would have moved it to Rosemont or Gary they could have had a great stadium. Though, as I said before, I am not sure how I feel about that. They had a decision and decided to put lipstick on a pig and stay where they were. The game time experience is great. Getting in and out is not so great.

Is it time to tear down FanSided? Their football content is beyond terrible. Perhaps CCS could disallow people linking to their website/articles.

I attended my first game at Soldier Field last year against the patriots and loved the stadium. Sure it looks odd from the outside and its on the small side but that location on the lake is truly awesome. I will say that I am also a big fan of the new Vikings stadium as well, I had the privilege of watching the bears man handle them in week 17. There isn't a bad seat in that place and I believe it's capacity is roughly 5500 more than SF and their home field advantage has to be right up there with places like Seattle and New Orleans, it truly can get deafening in that building. I have no real opinion on a new stadium, sure it would be great to see the bears play in a state of the art facility but its also nice to be able to enjoy the stadium for what it is. An odd looking exterior with an intimate and loud viewing experience.
