I doubt we'll resign him next year. Especially if we can land a big name pf. With that in mind, it appears we ought to try to get something of value for him sometime soon. Also it would open up JJ for the only position he seems capable of playing. pf.

i like the idea of getting another guard either pg or sg for tt. preferably a shooting guard with range or a higher draft pick. i'm not gooing crazy and axing for a high draft pick, but maybe something in the range from 12-18.

The Bulls have been trying to trade him for over a year now...no one really wants him...

He'll have to be part of a package deal because no one is going to trade for him straight up.

He's an expiring contract, and we don't want to increase future salary. So we'd have to get another expiring back. Obviously we wouldn't want to get worse through the trade either, but neither would the other team.

There aren't a lot of trades that make sense: we'd need to find a team who needs TT more than we do and who has someone who we need more than TT, and that player would have to have an expiring contract about the same size as TT's.

TT's best chance to be traded is as part of a larger deal. He isn't going to get much value in a straight up deal.

It's been time to trade T-Time since we drafted him. Every season you hear the same thing:
"This is the season where T-Time hopefully plays to his potential. 17 and 8."

But Nope. He still sucks. Has a good game, 4 bad ones, 3 good ones, 10 bad ones, 2 great ones, 40 bad ones. He panics all the time, he doesn't play under control, turnover after turnover. He's an average player. He can block a shot and dunk the ball.
Include him in a trade for Amare or Kevin Martin.:)

Actually it sounds like a lot of teams are interested.

He certainly has potential. I'm fine seeing him leave the Bulls, but everyone shouldn't give up on him. He's still young, just needs to grow up. Put him with the right team/coach/players and he'll be worth it.

Per Hoopshype: Blazers, who orginally drafted Tyrus, offered either Blake or Outlaw plus 2 future 2nd round picks for Tyrus. Bulls turned it down.

Meh, who knows if it was real, and there's still a week to find a deal, the Bulls don't have to deal Tyrus today.

i think i agree with doug, when he called bull on the charlotte rumour. plus it seems like a lot to offer for a guy you could easily sign this off season.

I do believe Doug said something about the Bobcats not being able to trade their 1st rounder because they already owe it to the TWolves. If that's the case, this obviously cannot happen. If DT is wrong, I think this could work rather nicely as that pick is probably a lotto or slightly lower.

Surely nobody is dumb enough to give up a lotto pick for TT.

They are a playoff team now so it isn't a lottery pick but even if they slip out it will be a late lotto pick. I would do that at the deadline if we don't have a package deal available. I am more concerned about seeing what we can do with deng and kirk. Deng's value won't get higher and if we could get a serviceable expiring for him, we should do it. I would do blake and outlaw for Deng. Then desperately try to move kirk and salmons for Allen. I would even throw in our first or tt to get it done.

I think you're hoping for too much, trading Deng, Kirk, Salmons and TT? Not many teams trade half their rotation in a week, and this is expected to be a quiet trade deadline all around anyway.

i would throw in tyrus. i would absolutely positively not throw in our first rounder. this is gonna be one of the best drafts in years. greg monroe, projected to go top 5 last year, is thought about in the 20s. that's how good this year is.

Its just a hope. I don't expect it to happen but I would look to trade Deng. His value is pretty high now for a terrible contract.

Deng doesn't often put up big numbers but he really helps the team. When Deng has been on the bench we're only scoring 94.4 points/100 possessions. That's 4th worst offensive team in the last 30 years bad.

I wouldn't say Deng is a terrible contract. Unless we're making the deals required to open up enough space to pay 2 max free agents, I'd keep him. He might be a little overpaid, but better the devil you know.

I didn't say Deng doesn't help. I just don't think a team can be an ecf or better team while handicapped by the LT and with him on the roster.

Thats what I was getting at. You can't have room for two max fas without dealing Deng and Kirk/Salmons. That was the entire point. If you could deal Kirk and Deng, you do it in a heartbeat and hope you get some servicible players to sneak into the playoffs. My dream deal would be Kirk and Deng for Allen in some sort of three way.
