I hate NASCAR but it does require a lot of physical stamina, skill, and concentration.
That being said it's probably the lamest, most boring sport there is and I'd prefer watching people playing video games to a 3 hour left turn.
The real question should be is NASCAR entertaining?

If you realize the amount of sheer work professional gamers put into it then you can appreciate it as a "sport." However the problem that people always seem to have with calling something a sport is that they want to give a comparison to "traditional sports" which is probably one of the dumbest things they can do. When I grew up, competitive gaming was a cool thing that was mostly done to say you're one of the best. It didn't provide a living wage or any benefits except for the elite few who managed to make a brand of themselves and gain sponsorship as well as income from borrowing your brand name to companies manufacturing gaming peripherals.
Fast forward to modern day competitive gaming which is being flooded by investment capitalists, former and current athletes, former e-sports athletes and major corporations trying to get in at the ground level of e-sports. Things have changed in a massive way. If a player can break out of the semi-pro level and into the professional level then they can in fact be making six figure salaries ez pz between their contract with their respective gaming organization and income from streaming on twitch.
The games which garner the most attention in e-sports to the tune of million dollar+ tournaments are League of Legends, DOTA2, Counter Strike Global Offensive (which I play obsessively), and more recently Overwatch has been gaining a massive following since its launch. Gaming isn't some nerd shit anymore. Its very possible to earn a comfortable living as a professional player. These guys also happen to put in thousands of hours of hard work and grinding to get to that level. Its not uncommon to see professional gamers put in 10-14 hours of total gaming in a day's "work."
