The defense is still going to be good...

The offense hinges on running the ball much better and Caleb mastering the play action pass.

Speaking of the play action pass

Out of all QBs who threw at least 400 passes, Caleb Williams had the least amount of attempts of PA Passes at 95...

Sam Darnold, for example, had 158 attempts.....

Caleb Willimas had a 27% YPA Boost over regular passes which was good for 4th best in the league vs other qualifiers.

The Bears coaching staff really didn't like the PA Pass last year.....

That's going to change. Goff threw 200 PA Passes vs the nearest competitor Murray who threw 159...

Everyone bashing the lions for losing the “Best offensive mind in the game” need to slow their roll. BJ is a great OC, but David Shaw is not a bad replacement at all. He could end up being very good as well.

That will be quite the accomplishment for a passing game coordinator.

Except David Shaw is not the OC, John Morton is. David Shaw is the passing game coordinator.

It is up for the taking, if only because the division sent three teams to the playoffs this past year. It is a tough division with a lot of regular season talent.

🎯 And it only works when the run game is good. If you can't run, the play action is meaningless.

Jeanty really starts to make a lot of sense

Bears beat the Packers twice, and the Lions once. They lose 1 or both to the Vikings.

1. Vikings (will have the best defense in the division.)
2. Bears (Their new weekly offensive game plans gets them over the hump against several teams)
3. Lions (They take a major step back due to all of the changes. They stumble out of the gate but come roaring back towards the end of the season)
4. The Packers maintain mediocrity due to Love not developing any more than he already has and their offense becoming stagnant

Have you considered that the Lions lost their entire coaching staff and are left with basically just the guy with the brown mouth and an OL coach?
Left with just the guy with the brown mouth….

I could see the vikings being pretty damn mediocre mostly because of mcfarthy

It's going to be a good season for this division.

Everyone expects the Lions to regress, but I imagine not that far. No one really knows what to expect with JJ and I would be damned surprised if they went with Rodgers with all the drama that comes with him. JJ will need a learning curve and it will likely cost the Vikings some games.

Lions and the Vikings were both in the top 5 of worst passing defenses. Both were saved in points by their ability to stop the run, both in the top 5.

I do not see the Vikings leading the league in picks this year. That number will fall. The pass rush will still be effective, but with the Bears upgraded line, it will be less effective.

I think the division is going to be a lot of close games without many blowouts. I'd be shocked if that were the case. The question is who's going to win this division in the trenches. In my mind, the team with the best DEPTH at line is going to win.

Regardless, it will be good football.

I see you failed to mention the packers, because they should have been 0-6 in the division last year. What a shit team

True, but they upgraded their O and Dlines this offseason. I think they will still have a strong run game behind Jones, and their defense will keep the scores low.

I also believe JJ is going to be better than some give him credit for. He looked good in the preseason before his injury. He should be what Nix was last year at worst is what I am thinking.
