I have a buddy down here that transfers music, home video, etc. to CD'd or DVD's depending.
One day I'm in his place shooting the shit when a guy walks in and has a box load of reel to reel music that he wants transferred to CD's.. He had each reel designated as to what disc he wanted it on.
We started talking music.. He said the reels were of his band.. I asked the bands name. He replied ,"Blood, Sweat and Tears"..
I almost fell over... Turns out, he was the trombone player for a while with them..
I told him I was from Chicago, and he said that during the 60's he would go to Chicago and always try and see one lounge band there that he thought was the best 4 piece combo he ever heard.
I knew right away who he meant because I knew them, and they were the #1 lounge band in Chicago during that time.
Their name was "The Exceptions".. Back then, bands would get booked into a club for weeks at a time.. The Exceptions were booked up 2 years in advance.
