Is there a reason no one is talking about the LLWS?

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Illinois Fighting Illini
Second Place in the whole thing? You bet. Congrats, JRW. That's quite an accomplishment.

Are international teams split into a bunch of regions and then they send over a national tournment winner or do they literally send over the best 12 year olds from the whole country to play on one team?

Seems like it sometimes. I think this tournament is slanted in favor of the asian teams.

They send over an All-Star team from the League they represent. For example, the South Korean team this year was made up of All-Star players from one of the leagues in Seoul, South Korea. The US simply has more kids that play in LL baseball as over 2 million kids play LL in the US while about 150k play in the rest of the world. So the talent in the US is spread out over more leagues. This is offset by the fact that the tournament is set up whereby the US is always guaranteed a spot in the finals while all the other countries have to compete with each other for a spot in the finals.

ok but by percentages is the Kids for Korea higher then in America?

Meaning thye have a higher concentration of folks playing baseball while in the US it's been diluting for some time, right?

This was a very fun team to follow. Never gave up. Hopefully they serve as role models to kids in the African-American communities in Chicago to work hard and stay out of trouble

Each country should just pick their best 14 little leaguers and duke it out!!
