I love how this has turned into talking about real bacon. How tasty.

I agree, but he has a lot of problems right now. I wrote a post on it that I'd to be my first post here so I won't talk too much about it, but I basically look into his struggles at the plate and how his skills-set has been declining since the start of the 2010 season in the worst possible way.

I really do hope he can turn things around. I do like the kid a lot; one of my favorite White Sox players.

He's my favorite Sox player, so I'm a little biased.

I just think it was tough for him as a talented player to go to the White Sox and have this bum teaching him how to hit.

I hope he can turn it around.

I thought last year was a make or break year.

I agree. It was the make or break year for me, and should have been for the Sox organization. I have zero faith that Gordo will become the player that Ozzie compared to Michael Young. His poor performance numbers are now setting a poor trend, showing clear expectations for future performance.

In your article I do agree that the numbers point to his inability to see the ball. Aside from the numbers, some of his at bats he looks totally lost and often times is swing way to early or swinging at garbage in the dirt which not only is a sign that he is not seeing the ball well but also indicative of someone pressing, or just trying to hard and starting to over think his ABs.

I dont expect to see marked improvement in him this year, I think the Gordon Beckham of the last 2 years is the Gordon Beckham we should expect, which I hope I'm wrong about but unfortunately we have been given no reason to expect any different.

Exactly. 38% of his swings were at shit. Likely a between-the-ears issue, like you said.

Eight minutes on the preheated GF grill. It stays crisp-tender and doesn't shrivel up. You'd also be surprised at how much fat drains away.

Same in the oven believe it or not

I like the kid. I really do and I hope this is the year that he can get it going offensively. I'd even take a .285/.290 year if he could hit some HRs and drive in runs consistently.

Who wouldn't take all star numbers?

If he could hit the ball, he's a gold glover. I think that the White Sox have kept him because of his fantastic defense. I can see why after firing Walker they want to give him another shot because if that defense and being good at the plate are combined, that's a franchise second baseman.

They're taking a chance because it's probably their best option at the moment.

Sarcasm. :D

But in all seriousness, I really want him to do well this year. With his glove, he could be a terrific asset if he could start hitting consistently.

Can we live with a .240 hitter in the lineup that plays superior D? The answer for me is YES!! The issue is we have too many that are doing that.

Beckham needs to hit .275-.280

.240 for his talent is unacceptable.

If Dunn, Rios, Konerko, and AJ or Alexei hit well, Beckham isn't a problem. He stuck out last year because there was no offense and he seemed like a guy who should be producing offensively.

If it wasn't for Cano or Pedroia, he would've won a gold glove.
