Well don't become jaded by your past, not all men are the bad experiences you've had. In fact, you may lose out on some good opportunities if you treat them like that. I'm not saying you do now, it's just something to be cautious of.
There is nothing wrong with being picky, that's actually more attractive to many men. However, there is a difference between confident women with standards as opposed to women that think their vagina is the holy grail. Of course there is nothing wrong with the former, and the later is a sign of a woman with serious issues.
Don't be afraid to ask men out. That way you are picking out qualities that YOU like, rather than waiting for them to come to you.

One of my closest girl friends fits the "my vagina is the holy grail" category and it's exhausting. And as soon as she sees me flirting with a dude, she has to come over and start flirting with him. That doesn't really seem to help me out but since she's much easier than I am, it does help me weed out the douchebags who are just looking for a hole to bury their hog in for the night.

Lol the "my vagina is the holy grail" girls are picky about looks.... they talk picky but then Doucheface McGee comes stumblin up with abs-o-steel and the "I totally lift Bro" arms and they revert to "well actually its like revolving door".
On a similar note, my brother-inlaw's brother is one of those average dudes who only looks at the prettiest girl in the room, no matter how cunty or fucktarded she is, all the dude looks at is the prettiest girl in the room who will never (and has never) given him a look... wtf is with dudes like that, I know a few others.... I don't get the mindset, you just kill your own chances essentially.

I don't know I used to do the same things at times, just to see if I could land them. There were quite a few occassions where I did. I consider myself average or slightly above in looks but I still landed hotties. I would approach women that other men wouldn't, even better looking guys. I simply didn't care what the women thought of me, you win some you lose some. Made me much more confident to approach the hot ones.
