My concern with him, and it may be an irrational one, is that he didn’t become dominant until his fifth year. If it took him that long to separate from guys who (most of them) won’t ever play in the league, how long will it take him to become dominant against other pros?

Bowers was a stud the second he walked into Athens. And he was often times the obvious best player on the field in the SEC, even as a freshman.

Bowers and Warren don’t belong in the same conversation.
He started out playing behind a fairly good TE.

Who? Theo Johnson? This kind of proves my point. Had Bowers gone to PSU, he would have been the clear starter first practice as a freshman, and Theo Johnson’s main job would have been to make sure Bowers always had water around.

I’m not saying Warren won’t have a great career. I wish him the best of luck. But I don’t think he’s in the same league as Bowers, and not worth pick 10.

Bowers leapfrogged everyone in Athens. The dude was special from day 1. I’ll look up when he was first mentioned on this board; that’s how apparent it was that he would be special

Guys like you and me who follow the program knew he was special before the first game of the season his freshman year.

To be fair, I heard about him prior to his first game but never watched him play until the season started. But he jumped off the screen

I didn’t go to any of the spring practices but I kept hearing how special he was and how he looked like the type of TE prospect that only comes around once every couple of years.
