Yeah, everyone knew Bowers was elite early on. Even as a freshman, he was usually the best player on the field. A true blue-chip prospect.

He was one of the guys I’d hoped they had drafted. I don’t think there are any Raiders fans who regret that pick.

Tbf, I don’t know much about Warren. He was dominant last year, that’s for sure, but only 1 year of elite production gives me pause.

Much as I loved bowers(and I was a big fan of his in the draft), he was not doing what he did there on the bears.

More like 700 yards.

He was the #1 target there, caleb was also one of the worst qb's in the entire NFL over 10 yards. Rome odunze had over 600 unrealized air yards, thats pathetic, and a lot of it was on caleb.

Warren is likely going to be a fine player, but he's not Bowers as a prospect. You can just see it in the way they move before and after contact that Bowers is in a different league in terms of agility, acceleration, and shiftiness. And Bowers is actually younger, too.

I don't buy this narrative that Warren is a "one year wonder" though. He obviously had a huge year this year (one of the best ever for a college TE really), but last year he had 422 yards and 7 TDs, which is pretty solid for a college TE and was 1st in TDs and 2nd in yards and catches on that Penn State team.

What CCS(And most nfl fans) also neglect to realize is tight ends historically take the longest out of all the skill positions to develop.

Bowers and lapoopa being good super early made people think its not the case. Bowers I expected because he's more of a hybrid slot than a TE.

Cole Kmet is only 3 years older than Warren. It wont shock me if he has a pro bowl year in big johnsons offense when an actual good offensive mind schemes to his strengths.

Okay guys, I'm officially OUT on Warren now because he wasn't Bowers until he stayed in college for a 5th year.

But I'm still going to meet @KittiesKorner in a crowded bar and slap him several times before he squats me.
I look forward to peeling out on your face with my street legal gator

He certainly looks the part. I think he’s still going to be good but I don’t think he would impact this roster much his rookie year and he’s not a sure fire prospect like Bowers was. I just think Fannin and/or Arroyo would benefit the roster more and same with Helms.

Dm me with SL gator tips, I got pulled over and warning over some bs about hazard lights
The trick is to on-ramp the highway aim for the kudzu and/or any wooded shoulder because most popo vehicles will not be able to engage pursuit

You’re probably right. But taking Bowers would have meant not taking Rome. Keenan isn’t coming back. Kmet would take only some of his targets. So it would be DJ as the 1 with Bowers being able to line up anywhere. Would see Poles looking for that speedy WR2 in this draft.

Oh well. I like Rome, also. I think he has the potential to be great in his own right.

Receiving yes. Blocking yes. Bench press who cares. Bigger and stronger, yes. Faster no. What do you all think? I wanted Brock in the first but am thinking Warren could be better than Taylor Swift's bf.
I don't see it.
Plenty have him ranked quite high, though.

And he's not going to be bald in a couple years.

I'm starting to warm up to Warren at 10. Plus he can throw the ball which I'm sure BJ likes 👍
Valid points.

I would have been happy with Bowers at 9 last year, and would be just as pumped with Warren at 10 this year. Outside of the traditional TE role, he’s already been successful in wild cat, screen game, shovel passes, and the trick passes as you mentioned. Big Johnson has to be enamored which is why I played Bears taking TE in 1st at +1800 (FYI - @msadows )

Bowers fits the generational label for TE, Bears are in line to likely have gotten at least the second best WR in this draft.

On the other hand, the Bears likely felt Kmet would be a bigger part of the offense than he was last year. Hindsight is 20-20 but I preferred Bowers over Rome

We can confirm that Tyler Warren is in fact different than Brock Bowers.

Can he play left tackle??

The closer to the draft, the more it seems like they will take a tackle.

Old Bears would take a DT, LB, CB, or S at #10.
New Bears will take a RB, LT, DE, or TE at #10.

Brock bowers was a different animal

If cold cement played 5 years in college and faced 18-20 year olds he too would have dominated the competition

No he wouldn’t have. Tyler Warren is better in every facet of the position.
