You just dislike the guy for your own reasons. It makes no sense.Pretty much the majority of them. ****, id take tommy cutlets over bagboi
ya, it was a joke, not trying to start a debate.Bags outplayed Fields. Has a 500 record.
Ya I was kinda joking too. Cherry picking win % .ya, it was a joke, not trying to start a debate.
That's where I got this from. There are definitely more backup journeymen type QBs who are more proven. However, they are nothing to be excited about potential wise. You kinda know what they are. Bagent is still an unknown.
He was a rookie back up, who should not have had to start last year. lol No kidding. His upside and top level of play is still unknown today. Or you can pretend to know already. Up to you.He started in 4 games last year and looked like a backup who shouldnt be starting...what do you mean he is unknown? Literally everyone after watching him plays knows what type of player he is.
I'd say the best 2 back ups in the nfl are probably Flacco and wentz.
List of backup QBs:
Bears - Bagent
Packers - Clifford
Lions - Hooker
Vikings - Darnold (assuming McCarthy is future starter)
Cowboys - Rush / Lance
Giants - DeVito
Commanders - Mariota
Eagles - Pickett
Falcons - Penix
Panthers - Dalton
Saints - Rattler
Bucs - Trask
49ers - Dobbs
Seahawks - Howell
Cardinals - Ridder
Rams - Garoppolo
Patriots - Maye (assuming Brisket is starter)
Bills - Trubisky
Dolphins - Thompson
Jets - Taylor
Ravens - Johnson
Browns - Winston
Steelers - Wilson / Fields
Bengals - Browning
Titans - Willis
Colts - Flacco
Jaguars - Jones
Texans - Keenum
Chiefs - Wentz
Raiders - Minshew
Chargers - Stick
Broncos - Wilson
There are a handful of young guys as backup like Penix obviously and Rattler and even Trask who have potential. However, most of these are just journeymen who have peaked.
Minshew is the starter for the Raiders. I'd take Bagent over Aiden O'Connell though.I'll leave the guys who I think are absolutely better than bagent

He was a rookie QB thrown to the wolves early in the season. He now has a much better coach, game plan, talent all around him and a little starting experience and 2 full camps. Why do you think he cant get better like everyone else? Where/where did we see him play his best?? I like him as our back up. He may or may not, fail or succeed one day. I don't get why you are pretending to know his future. The coaches like him. They did not go out and get a vet back up did they. They would have if they thought they needed one. PS. I bet he will be a starter one day for a team. The premise behind this thread was if Bagent is better than the worst starting QB...what part of his game makes you think he could be better than the worst starting QB when he isn't even better than maybe half the backups out there. Saying his upside and top level of play is unknown is such a homer statement. In 3 years I look forward to the CCS thread dedicated to Bagent when he is on his 3rd team in a camp battle with Desmond Ridder. Hopefully you will still cape for him saying we still havent seen his top level of play
If fumbling, throwing picks and rushing is your benchmark you're absolutely right lolFields is definitely the best backup QB in the NFL.
Of course this is true. He did well for a rookie from a small school and looks to have improved this year. Nobody know at this point how far he will progress. He could turn into an outstanding starter or stop improving and remain a good backup. I'm sure he wants a chance to compete for a starting role and will move on when his contract ends.He was a rookie QB thrown to the wolves early in the season. It's a guess. Good as any.I'll say it again: Bagent's ceiling is a prime Chad Pennington. A better modern comparison might be Gardner Minshew if things continue to progress well for him. He could possibly be a guy who'll cost a GM his job for thinking he can be anything more than a lower-end starter, thus making him a good backup.

Pittsburgh has the best backups in the league. Unfortunately one of them has to be the starter.
