Bryant pulled a Castro.

Can't watch right now - Did someone score while he held the ball? Or did he stay on second on a fly ball to deep right center?

Or is this now just a euphemism for grounding into a DP?

He is the ace. Lester is a league #2.

The main problem I see going on vs AL teams is they need a stable line up. I believe they need to keep Schwarber in as DH or promote Baez for the play off roster and use him as DH. Those games are going to be more of slug fests and the Cubs need to have impact bats going.

Most underrated Cub....Chris Coghlan. That goes for both this year and last. Last year they threw into the lead off spot and did a real nice job of getting on base....this year they throw into the three hole and he starts launching HRs. The bonus is he plays both outfield and infield positions creditably. On top of that he has to be the guy on this team that's hit in the hardest luck....he's hitting about .250 or so but with any kind of luck he'd be at .275. This guy's got a job here as long he wants one.

Arrieta is 1st #Cubs pitcher w/12 straight quality starts since Maddux had a 14-game stretch, June 25-Aug. 31, 1992.

They dont need to worry about DH again this year, just have 1 game left against an AL team, a make up game at home against KC

Just what they needed...
Easy win with Arrieta giving the bullpen rest..

Now we see if bottom 3 of rotation can pull it together this weekend

His D in LF improved quite a bit this year as well. I was critical of his D last year and felt he looked shaky much of the time. But the numbers show he was much improved this year (prior to moving to 2nd, that is)
