Did I hear that correctly? Arrieta is the first pitcher in MLB to 15 wins this year?

Most underrated Cub....Chris Coghlan. That goes for both this year and last. Last year they threw into the lead off spot and did a real nice job of getting on base....this year they throw into the three hole and he starts launching HRs. The bonus is he plays both outfield and infield positions creditably. On top of that he has to be the guy on this team that's hit in the hardest luck....he's hitting about .250 or so but with any kind of luck he'd be at .275. This guy's got a job here as long he wants one.

I'm a Coghlan fan as well. I'd love to have him on the team next year, if anything as a super sub.

Can't watch right now - Did someone score while he held the ball? Or did he stay on second on a fly ball to deep right center?

Or is this now just a euphemism for grounding into a DP?

Its more of a you didn't notice because Castro name wasn't behind it.

They dont need to worry about DH again this year, just have 1 game left against an AL team, a make up game at home against KC

Talking about the series. :smug2:

JAKE ARRIETA IS FIRST IN MLB TO 15 WINS
The RHP, who hit the mark by fanning seven batters in six innings Thursday, is only the 6th Cubs pitcher in the modern era (since 1900) to be the first in MLB to 15 wins and first since Greg Maddux in 1988. (via Elias)

Jake said he was unimpressed with it all. He was pissed with himself for only going 6 innings.

Yet he wasn't good enough to be an All Star

Gonna be a short day for Hendricks. He has no clue where his pitches are going.

Cogs on the roids.

1-1

Im glad we kept him. I thought he deserved a chance after last year. He was pretty solid and had a bad start. He has a professional approach at the plate.

I think you need to play normal with Freeman, he doesn't mind hitting groundballs to third for a single with inside out swings

The way these ridiculous plate umps call ankle high strikes, it might be in Hendricks best interest to start getting the ball down in the strike zone. Most of his pitches are like belt high screaming hit me as they approach the plate.

Hendricks pulled for Denorfia. I don't disagree with the move. Hendricks has very little working today. Lucky we are in this game
