Until the Cubs move Bryant to LF in Iowa 3B is the most likely landing spot for Bryant.

I think he breaks into the Majors as a 3B, but once Russell comes up, I think they shift him to the OF. I think he'll be at 3rd at least until 2016.

That I am. But Soler is going to be in RF before or when Bryant comes up. So that leaves him 1B, 3B, or LF. Obviously 1st is taken by Rizzo. With Castro, Baez, and Russell in the mix, one of them will end up at 3rd, unless one of them is traded. LF just seems most likely.

I think a trade seems the most likely for 1 of the 3 SS's, so the OF is no guarantee for Bryant.

There is no guarantee with anyone staying or playing the same position they are right now in the majors or minors except Rizzo at 1B. That is the one thing that is locked in. Everything else is in flux based on how guys develop and signings (Cubs are in on OF Rusney Castillo right now). Nothing to worry about until we have prospects knocking on the door and 8 major league caliber starting position players.

True, but it's hard to net good players in return if you are dealing them the players you don't want.

Sometimes, the element of surprise is the best tactic, and when they are in the farm and doing well, low market teams flock to these type of players as headliners for players that they are unable to keep.

Sure but then you have to have a crystal ball and be able to tell which guys are going to pan out and which ones won't right now. Better to let the numbers game work in your favor and in the unlikely outcome everyone does make it then deal from strength.

Well, Theo did it with H-Ram, Sanchez, Delgado, and Garcia for Beckett, Lowell, and Mota.

Albeit they were ready to contend, but H-Ram was considered untouchable at the time, and that's how Theo got his staff ACE. So I think he would do it again if the opportunity presented itself.

Lets see: Tonight: Bryant 3B Check. Baez SS. Olt 1B.

Bonifacio: 3B, Castro SS, Alcantara 2B

They are staying flexible right now. Things should clear up in a year. I still think they are gearing up to trade for Price.

I dont think theyll trade for price...

1. Your not going to trade off best prospects now when this guy will be a FA next off season, might as well wait

Depends. If they trade to a contender that team could just lock him up. I don't see Price on the Rays next year.

I didn't say it wasn't his fault. He's just not *this* bad. He'll get better.

That being said, I cringe when I see he's the SP.

If anybody is going by Jackson FIP and xFIP and saying he will get better throw that out the window. He does not work with that stat. FIP and xFIP will always show him better, but it doesnt account that his whole career he has just giving up hits. He is the epitome of hittable.

Career 1.45 WHIP. Career BAA .269. Career OPSA .772
