Lackey sucks..
Was hoping he retired after winning the WS

Hendricks should be pitching today

The Cubs' D was terrific last year, and will be again this year.

But for some reason, they make more costly errors when Lackey is on the mound.

If Zobrist had made that DP we'd be in a scoreless game. I'm not putting this on Lackey just yet.

Hope they all get their hitting groove back in Milwaukee otherwise it going to be another tough series against the Dodgers , especially with both Lackey and Anderson scheduled to pitch in series..

What do see that tells you that Lackey is pitching badly? He just isn't.

Who would of thought Heyward would have more hits (2) at this point then Rizzo Bryant and Zobrist combined (1)..

5 hits a walk and 3 runs through 3 ip..

Lackey to me is just one of those guys now that will throw a lot of pitches cause he will be in trouble alot.. will most likely go 5 or 6 if lucky and give up 3 to 5 runs most games...
So, basically Cubs hitters will have to probably score 4+ runs in majority of his starts to have chance to win..

Guys like Lackey and Anderson will burn the pen out alot, especially with both going back to back...

I love how they have to decide whether to pitch to Schwarber or pitch to Bryant. Even with Bryant struggling a little early.

The runs are on Zobrist more than Lackey. He's pitched a pretty solid game.

He still gave up 2 hits after that play which plated 2 more runs...

I'll give him credit for keeping it at 3 after that inning but I just think he going to be that guy that goes 5 or 6 and gives up 3 plus in most of his starts this year.

So what? He isn't an ace, he's a number 4 pitcher. He's pitched a solid game. I don't know what you're expecting from the guy. If he makes a lot of starts, eats up a decent amount of innings, wins double digit ballgames, and wins more than he loses, he's done his job.

John Lackey is hitting 1.000, Jason Heyward is hitting .364 and both our World Series MVP and the NL MVP are hitting .000, tell me baseball isn't a strange game.

Giving up 4 runs in 5/6 innings not going to win him double digits games or eat up ton of innings..

He's going to end up with about 8 K/9, a FIP in the high 3's and an ERA a little better than that playing with that defense. That's a hell of a 4th starter and definitely doesn't suck.

That was officially the weirdest thing I've ever seen in this game. Pine tar on his chest protector?
